Nuclear Energy
By Nicolas Lotano
How Nuclear Energy is Produced In a reactor, Uranium or Plutonium atoms
undergo nuclear fission. Nuclear fission is when an atom is split
This process releases a large amount of heat energy. It also releases neutrons .
These neutrons collide with other atoms, splitting them, releasing more energy.
This heat energy heats water to create steam that is used to spin a turbine, creating electricity.
How Nuclear Energy is Transported
Since the nuclear energy is in the form of electricity, it is transported to the consumer using the power grid.
How the Consumer Uses Nuclear Energy Since the nuclear energy was transformed
into electricity, the consumer would simply plug things in to use the nuclear energy.
