FRESH EXPRESSIONS

Fall Festival Update Our Johnny Appleseed booth at the Frederick County Middle School Fall Festival was a hit on October 19. Hundreds of families with their small children were in attendance and stopped by our booth for face painting and apple-related games and activities. Flyers were given to families with the lyrics for the Johnny Appleseed song as well as details about our church worship services and Youth Connection. Many thanks to Anna Nicodemus for her drawing of Johnny Appleseed that decorated our booth, to the Salvati family for the donation of game

materials that can be used year after year and for apples, to Ilse Jorgensen and her face painting efforts, and to Cindy Adams who volunteered at our booth playing with the children, talking with the parents, and having a smile for everyone, as well as her donation of apples. Opportunities such as the fall festival are important ways that we make our church visible in the community. Please pray for those who may turn their minds and hearts closer to Christ because of our presence in their midst. Gretchen Moody, Fresh Expressions Chairperson

PRESCHOOL / DAYCARE

Focus on Service

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord…to show forth Thy loving kindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness every night. Psalm 92:1-2

Our spaghetti dinner was held on October 11, 2019. A big thank you to all the parent and church volunteers, Carraba’s and Donatos Italian restaurants and Martins. We raised $ 516.00.

Our annual craft bazaar was held on Saturday, October 26. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were served by Mrs. Angie. Thank you Mrs. Angie for the donation of the food for all the events. There was a Halloween party that followed the BBQ dinner. We raised $920.00. Thanks for the donations from our parents, staff and RUMC. We all had a wonderful time.

Our fundraising efforts have raised over $9,542.00 that will go toward our new security system. Thank you to everyone who is making this possible to

protect God’s Children.

Our new fundraiser is shirts with Redland Preschool logo and your choice of print. An order form is available in the narthex along with our Yankee Candle

fundraiser. For more information contact Donna McCarty at 540-888-8476 or email [email protected]

THANKSGIVING It is right, and a good and joyful thing,

always and everywhere to give thanks to you,

Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

By your appointment the seasons come and go.

You bring forth bread from the earth and create the fruit

of the vine.

You formed us in your image and made us stewards of

your world.

Earth has yielded its treasure, and from your hand we

have received blessing on blessing.
