Folsom Prison Museum On this unique outing, we'll visit a museum that features a wealth of photographs, memorabilia from Johnny Cash's famed concerts and an eight-foot motorized ferris wheel, created by a prisoner in the 1930s, made of a quarter million toothpicks. Featured November Excursions California Automobile Museum Join us for a fascinating visit to this museum, which features an expansive collection of over 150 vehicles. Strolling through the exhibits will transport visitors to decades past from 1885 through the early 2000s. Our culinary team will prepare boxed lunches for us to bring with us. Veterans Day at Oakmont In November, we celebrate Veterans Day to honor all those who have served our country. To thank our residents who have served and acknowledge the many veterans in our country, Oakmont communities are hosting a wide variety of events. Many communities will hold Veterans Day celebrations to acknowledge the sacrifice their resident veterans made to protect our country. Others have come up with creative fundraisers, like a car wash, with proceeds benefitting organizations that support families who’ve lost a loved one serving in the Armed Forces. Some are using the holiday as an educational opportunity and hosting seminars to provide information about veterans benefits. Whatever your Oakmont community is doing, we hope that you will join us to celebrate our nation’s heroes and give thanks for their service.     Pets For Vets SeminarTuesday, November 6th, 11:00 am

    The nonprofit organization Pets for Vets will present on their inspiring mission to train and pair dogs with veterans seeking companionship.

    Veterans TributeSaturday, November 10th, 1:00 pmTeam members will be selling homemade baked goods at this celebration that will honor our resident veterans. All proceeds will benefit Pets for Vets, a nonprofit organization that pairs veterans with trained dogs. Enjoy live music, photos and stories about our resident veterans at this event that is devoted to giving thanks to those who have served our country.

    Please join us in warmly welcoming our new Home Health Director, Zandra (Zee) Mardones. Zee was born in Chile to parents of Lebanese & Chilean descent and lived there until she was eight years old. Her family relocated to California and she enlisted in the army at age 17. Afterwards, Zee attended college and obtained her Licensed Vocational Nurse certification. Zee has worked as a nurse for the past 22 years in a number of capacities, including Hospice, Home Health and Long Term Care Facilities. She is the proud mother to three adult children. We are thrilled to welcome you to our Oakmont team, Zee!
