Western Railway MuseumThe Western Railway Museum has over 50 historic cars on display, 22 miles of track and 22 acres. The museum features historic railway exhibits, vintage streetcars, a large and shaded picnic area, library archives, a gift shop and a cafe. Join us! Admission is $9.

It is the month of June, which means that our communities will be welcoming the warmer weather with a number of festivities that residents and families will be able to enjoy together.

Many communities will host outdoor concerts and happy hours. Several will also screen movies outside under the stars. Our planned excursions include picnics and other opportunities for residents to enjoy the sunshine. Warmer weather will permit outdoor space for nostalgic classic car shows to delight our residents. Our award-winning culinary teams are planning to grill up delectable barbequed favorites for all to enjoy.

Father’s Day is coming up this month as well. Each of Oakmont’s communities will host in-house Father’s Day celebrations to provide opportunities for families to visit, share a meal and show appreciation for the fathers in their lives. We know that there is no better way to celebrate summer than with friends and family. To our residents and families, we send warm wishes for a joyous summer season.RCFE# 079200560

We are pleased to introduce Simran, our Resident Care Coordinator! She is a valued member of our team and is very popular with team members, families and residents. Simran was born in India and then migrated to the United States with her parents and brother when she was a teenager. While in high school, she also attended cosmetology school and became a beautician. She then went to UC Berkeley, where she got her degree in biology. From there, she went to Unitek College to get her LVN degree and license. Before joining the Oakmont team, she worked at Stanford Medical Hospital in Palo Alto. She got married

this April and had a traditional five-day Indian wedding. One of her many talents is henna art She still loves to style hair and also enjoys dancing and night life. We are so grateful to have you on the team, Simran!

50s Sock Hop Thursday, June 6th, 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm Join us as we travel back in time to the fabulous 1950s! The dining room will be transformed into a sock-hop diner and we will enjoy music, dancing and live entertainment by Mike and Ella Spellman. Wear your dancing shoes and your poodle skirt. We hope to see you there! Guest cost is $20.

Father’s Day BBQ Dinner Saturday, June 15th, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Join us as we show our appreciation for all of the wonderful fathers in our community with a relaxing celebration.
