Oakmont Senior Living's Response to the California Wildfires As the entire nation watched our beloved Sonoma County community bracing for one of the worst fire-related disasters in modern memory, we saw truly selfless acts from our Oakmont staff, residents and families that filled our hearts with hope. Everyone's efforts did not go unnoticed; heartfelt phone calls, emails, and handwritten thank you notes have been pouring in. Many have also taken action by donating to the Oakmont Family Fund or the Oakmont Senior Living GoFundMe account that was set up to assist Oakmont employees who lost their homes in the fires. The act of giving is in itself healing, and both the Gallaher and Ratto families want to be a part of that. In response to the wildfires, they have donated 2 million dollars to local Santa Rosa organizations. We welcomed Paul to Oakmont of Escondido Hills in March of 2014. He is a wonderful neighbor and friend, and he’s known around the community for being an avid Bingo player! After a short stint in the Navy Air Corp, Paul received a degree in engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He then became an engineer for Shell Oil Company, where he worked for 36 years. After losing his first wife, he met Joyce in a ‘Parents without Partners’ group. Coincidentally, they both have an adopted son and daughter. They immediately hit it off and have been married since January of 1964. In their free time, Paul

and Joyce enjoy camping with their kids and traveling. Most recently, Paul participated in this year’s Alzheimer's walk with our Oakmont team. Thank you, Paul, for being a delightful addition to the Escondido Hills community!
