    THE RECORDS - - Iowa (2-0) has opened the season with homewins over Northern Iowa (31-23) and Ball State (17-13). TheHawkeyes were 8-5 last season, earning a trip to the 2014 OutbackBowl, where they dropped a 21-14 decision to LSU. Iowa posteda 5-3 mark in Big Ten play, earning a second place nish in thedivision behind league champion Michigan State. Iowa was 3-1in nonconference games in 2013 ago.

    Iowa State is 0-2, dropping home games to North Dakota State(34-14) and Kansas State (32-28). The Cyclones were 3-9 in 2013,including a 2-7 mark in Big 12 Conference ac on.

    THE SERIES - -Iowa holds a 40-21 advantage in the Iowa CornCy-Hawk Series, winning last season by a 27-21 margin in Amesto claim the Cy-Hawk Trophy. The Hawkeyes have won four of thelast six mee ngs, but the Cyclones won 9-6 in 2012 on their lastvisit to Kinnick Stadium. The teams rst met in 1894 and havemet every year since 1977.

    COACHING RECORDS - - Kirk Ferentz is in his 19th year as acollege head coach and his 16th year as Iowas head coach. Hiscareer record is 122-100 and he is 110-79 at Iowa. He is the 12thBig Ten Conference coach to win 100 games.

    IOWA CORN CY-HAWK TROPHY Iowa Corn is the sponsor of the Cy-Hawk Series and the annual football game

    between the two schools.Iowa and Iowa State played for the Cy-Hawk Trophy from the me the series

    resumed in 1977, with the Hawkeyes holding a 24-13 advantage in those games.That Cy-Hawk Trophy was donated to the series by the Des Moines Athle c Club.The Cy-Hawk Trophy currently resides in Iowa as a result of Iowa s 27-21 victoryin Ames City last season.

    Saturdays game is the second event in the 11th annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawkseries. Iowa State defeated Iowa in womens soccer on Sept. 5. The annual seriesis ed 5-5.

    The Cy-Hawk Trophy is the rst of four trophy games on Iowas slate in 2014.Iowa also has trophy games against Minnesota (Floyd of Rosedale), Wisconsin(Heartland), and Nebraska (Heroes).

    LAST MEETINGThe Hawkeyes earned program win No. 600 following a 27-21 triumph over in-

    state rival Iowa State at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames on Sept. 14, 2013.The Hawkeyes amassed 218 of their 378 total yards on the ground. RB Mark

    ISU cut the Hawkeye lead to 13-7 on a 67-yard touchdown pass from QB Sam Richard-son to WR Quenton Bundrage.

    The Hawkeyes responded with two-straight touchdown drives, including WRJacob Hillyers 26-yard scoring recep on, and a 1-yard plunge by Rudock to extendIowas lead to 27-7 with seven minutes remaining.

    Bundrage caught his second and third touchdown grabs of 26 and 17 yards,respec vely, to pull the Cyclones to within 27-21 with 2:26 remaining, but Iowarecovered an on-side kick a empt by ISU and held on for the six-point victory.

    Rudock completed 14-23 passes for 160 yards while accoun ng for three scores(two passing and one rushing).

    Mar n-Manley caught a team-high seven passes for 60 yards for the Hawkeyes.DB B.J. Lowery and LB James Morris both recorded intercep ons for Iowa.

    Richardson completed 22-39 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns, butalso had two intercep ons for the Cyclones. Bundrage nished with seven recep-

    ons for 146 yards receiving and three scores to lead ISU.

    Wednesday night. The 90-minute radio call-in show is hosted by Gary Dolphin, theplay-by-play voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The show airs each Wednesday eveningat 7 p.m. from Carlos OKellys in Iowa City.

    The schools have split the all- me series, 5-5, withIowa State winning last years ba le 14-11.

    Iowa captured the inaugural Cy-Hawk Series in 2004-05 (13-8), and won again in 2006-07 (13-8), 2008-09(21-4), 2010-11 (15-11), and 2012-13 (17-9).

    Iowa State won the compe on in 2005-06 (13-8),2007-08 (18-9), 2009-10 (16-11), 2011-12 (17-11),and 2013-14 (14-11).
