6. Main contractor to excavate for and lay one way

125mm dia. black coloured ducts to verge and

footway areas providing a cover of 450mm,

indicated thus:-

125mm dia. black coloured ducts to verge and

footway areas providing a cover of 750mm,

indicated thus:-

100mm dia. orange coloured duct to carriageway

approximately every 250m.

9. The exact cable/ducting requirements between

the DLH mains cable network and private cable

network is to be agreed during the target Cost

10. Street Lighting orders shall be placed by SCC.

11. All works and materials to be supplied and

installed fully compliant with the latest issue of

the following E-on Street Lighting documents;

i) 'Street Lighting Design Policy', ref SLP500.

ii) 'Specification for Road Lighting and Lit Traffic

Signs on New Developments' document ref

SLP501.

iii) 'Highway Works Detail Drawings', document

ref SLP502.

iv) Trench depths in pavement or private land

shall be 530mm (min. cover over cable 450mm)

and in carriageway shall be 600mm (min. cover

520mm).

v) Where cables are not protected in a duct they

must be blinded with 75mm of crushed stone

dust and approved yellow 'electric cable' marker

tape laid above.

vi) For details of WPD ducting requirements refer

to quotation

vii) It is the responsibility of the contractor to liaise

with the DLH for a mains service to street lighting

and lit traffic signs unless otherwise instructed.

The Main Contractor shall;

excavate all trenches and intermediate cable joint bays

(2000mm-2500mm) to the specification and satisfaction of

WPD.

supply and lay 'danger electric cable' warning tape to

specification ENA TS 12-23 and shall cover the ducts.

ensure that trench depths in pavement or private land shall

be 530mm (min. cover over cable 450mm) and in

carriageway shall be 600mm (min. cover 520mm).

ensure that trench width for single cable is 300m and for

two cables 400mm (min. 150mm spacing).

shall liaise with WPD/E-on representative prior to

undertaken any works.

shall be responsible for all traffic management and

co-ordination including that required by WPD/Eon for their

installation and jointing works.
