as the Counselor, Helper, and Advocate, the One Who "proceeds from

the Father"

For in the day of trouble He will keep me secretly in His booth. In the

covering of His Tent He will hide me. On a Rock He raises me up.

is for you too!

Scripture speaks of a secret place where we can simply go, be alone, be

protected, pray, and hear from Yahuahshua. Knowing there is such a

place is a matter of faith. Going back time and again, that's a matter of

building a relationship. You need not have an advanced degree in any

subject, need not have memorized Scripture from beginning to end, but

instead be aware the of Y’ISCHRa’ÄL has a place for each

Jew and Gentile who will open their minds and hearts to Him.

Mt 6:5-8

When you pray, you shall not be as the role-fakers, for they love to

stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that

they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received

their reward. But you, when you pray, enter into your inner chamber,

and having shut your door, pray to your Father Who is in secret, and

your Father Who sees in secret shall reward you openly. In praying,

don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they

shall be heard for their much speaking. Therefore don’t be like them,

don't you see that your Father knows what things you need before you

ask Him.

The truth in reality is visited in this secret place AND must be shared by

those who will live or else ... they will perish ... in darkness.

It is written

Lu 11:33

“No one, when he has lit a Lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket,

but on a stand, that those who come in may see the Light.

Tehillim. 119:105

Your Word is a Lamp to my feet, and a Light (aur) for my path.

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your

whole body is also full of Light; but when it is evil, your body also is full

of darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.

If therefore your whole body is full of Light, having no part dark, it shall

be wholly full of Light, as when the Lamp with its bright shining gives

you Light.”

who see it from afar. The Secret Place, here, shines a bit of light so

many can see from afar. The topics we have chosen are addressed to

Jew and Gentile together. We do this because that is what the Bible

does. This opens the window to make more sense of what Scripture tells

us!

In the secret place is plain language, something simple to read. This is a

mere starting place for deeper consideration.

TsephanYahuw ( “Yâ-hwuah has hidden away / Secret of Yahuw)

[639-609 BCE]

Ts’fanyah’s name means

“Yâ-hwuah has hidden away” Or

“Yâ-hwuah has treasured up”.

Ts’fanyah was probably also a contemporary of Nakhum, and may have lived to see the destruction of Yahrushalom, a foreshadowing of the dark

and wrathful

About which he prophesied.

However, he presents this as a purging of the Land, which would prepare the way for Y’Isra'al to again be a light to all nations and allow the exiles of all Ysra'al to return in peace, and worshippers of Yâ-hwuah to come from the world over as pilgrims to a city cleansed of all its sins.

TsephanYahuw 1:1

The word of “Yâ-hwuah which came to TsephanYahuw,

Kushi: may indicate that his mother was Ethiopian or Kushite by some other line. This would mean Ts’fanyah was probably rather dark-skinned.

Ancient Y’Isra’alites did not all look alike, just as it is today.

Crown Tiara of Dagon/Moloch

The Crown of Ba'al, also known as the Papal Tiara and Triregnum is a three-tiered jeweled papal crown and symbol of claimed papal

supremacy since the 16th Century. Since the 16th Century, it has featured prominently as part of the coat of arms of the Vatican, usually with the crossed keys of claims of authority from St Peter. Any text or other claim that alleges the three-tiered crown is older than the 16th

Century is deliberately false.

Church and in its power are two swords; namely, the spiritual and the temporal. For when the Apostles say: 'Behold, here are two swords' that is to say, in the Church, since the Apostles were speaking, the Lord did

not reply that there were too many, but sufficient. Certainly the one who denies that the temporal sword is in the power of Peter has not listened

well to the word of the Lord commanding: 'Put up thy sword into thy scabbard']. Both, therefore, are in the power of the Church, that is to

say, the spiritual and the material sword, but the former is to be administered _for_ the Church but the latter by the Church; the former in the hands of the priest; the latter by the hands of kings and soldiers,

but at the will and sufferance of the priest.

However, one sword ought to be subordinated to the other and temporal authority, subjected to spiritual power. For since the Apostle said: 'There

is no power except from God and the things that are, are ordained of God' but they would not be ordained if one sword were not subordinated to the other and if the inferior one, as it were, were not led upwards by

the other. For, according to the Blessed Dionysius, it is a law of the divinity that the lowest things reach the highest place by intermediaries. Then, according to the order of the universe, all things are not led back to order equally and immediately, but the lowest by the intermediary, and the inferior by the superior. Hence we must recognize the more clearly that spiritual power surpasses in dignity and in nobility any

temporal power whatever, as spiritual things surpass the temporal. This we see very clearly also by the payment, benediction, and consecration of the tithes, but the acceptance of power itself and by the government

even of things. For with truth as our witness, it belongs to spiritual

power to establish the terrestrial power and to pass judgement if it has not been good. Thus is accomplished the prophecy of Jeremias

concerning the Church and the ecclesiastical power: 'Behold to-day I have placed you over nations, and over kingdoms' and the rest.

Therefore, if the terrestrial power err, it will be judged by the spiritual power; but if a minor spiritual power err, it will be judged by a superior spiritual power; but if the highest power of all err, it can be judged only

by God, and not by man, according to the testimony of the Apostle: 'The spiritual man judgeth of all things and he himself is judged by no man'.

This authority, however, (though it has been given to man and is

exercised by man), is not human but rather divine, granted to Peter by a divine word and reaffirmed to him (Peter) and his successors by the One

Whom Peter confessed, the Lord saying to Peter himself, 'Whatsoever you shall bind on earth, shall be bound also in Heaven' etc.,. Therefore whoever resists this power thus ordained by God, resists the ordinance

of God, unless he invent like Manicheus two beginnings, which is false and judged by us heretical, since according to the testimony of Moses, it is not in the beginnings but in the beginning that God created heaven and earth Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is

absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.

TsephanYahuw 1:4

Yâ-hwuah says, I will stretch out my hand against Yahuwdah, and against all the inhabitants of Yahrushalom. I will cut off the remnant of

Ba'al from this place: the name of the idolatrous and pagan priests,

Who blacken with heat: thought to be an idiom for idolatrous priests. King Yoshiyahu did destroy Ba’al’s priesthood and sacred groves, and

threw Ba’al’s vessels out of Yâ-hwuah’s Temple.

TsephanYahuw 1:5 Those who worship the army of the sky on the housetops, those who

worship and swear by Yâ-hwuah and also swear by Malkam,

Armies of heaven: the stars. Their king: possibly that of the armies of heaven. Aramaic, their idols. The Hebrew term, malkam, is also the

proper name of the national idol of the Ammonites (descendants of Lot). They were another example of “skipping/limping between two opinions”.

those who have turned back from following Yâ-hwuah, and those who haven’t diligently searched for Yâ-hwuah nor consulted after Him.

Consulted Him: or, asked where He was. Diligently searched: compare

YirmeYahuw 29:13. [You shall seek Me, and find Me, when you shall search for Me with all

your heart.]

They stopped searching once they heard He was not nearby, because that way they could go on doing what they wanted to do.

TsephanYahuw 1:7

Be silent at the presence of the Master Yâ-hwuah, for the Day of Yâ-hwuah is at hand.

Selected: literally, set apart, dedicated, separated out. Keep quiet: Those who are not invited are being told it is too late, because they

should have repented long ago. Day of Yâ-hwuah :

Amows 5:18-20;

Woe to you who desire the Day of Yâ-hwuah! For what good is the Day of Yâ-hwuah to you? It will be darkness, and not light. As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; Or he went into the house and leaned

his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.

The house… snake: The counterfeit Mâshíyach is present both within Judaism and Christianity.

it.

Mal. 3:1

“Behold, I send My Messenger, and he will clear the way before Me; and

the Master, Whom you seek, will suddenly come to His Hekal; and the

Ya-hwuah of Armies.

Amows 5:20 Won’t the Day of Yâ-hwuah be darkness, and not light? Even

Mal. 3:2 “But who can endure the Day of His coming? And who will stand when

He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderer’s soap;

The return of the Mâshíyach will not be what people expect. It will not be a painless transition, but unless we are willing to enter into this

Ruwach of purging, we will not arrive at His Kingdom. Smelter: one who puts metal ore through very hot fire to test it and prove its strength?

Fuller: one who makes a sheep’s wool “full” by shrinking it with water, stomping on it, pressing it out, and cleaning it with lye (a full-strength,

caustic soap).

Mal. 3:3

And He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Lewi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer to

Yâ-hwuah offerings in righteousness.

can undergo change without breaking, and can be hammered out as thin as wire. As we purge our lives of leaven at the feast of Unleavened

A Day of Judgment on God's People Zep_1:8-13

TsephanYahuw 1:8

It will happen in the Day of Yâ-hwuah’s slaughter, that I will punish the princes, the king’s sons, and all those who are clothed with foreign

clothing. Foreign clothing: Reflecting a different tradition and a different covering, and a sign of serving someone else. All the more reason to start dressing

like an Ysra'alite now! Aramaic: "who go thronging to worship idols.

"Apparently an allusion to

2 Kings 10:20-22

Yehu said, “Sanctify a solemn assembly for Ba'al! ”They proclaimed it.

Yehu sent through all Ysra'al; and all the worshippers of Ba'al came, so that there was not a man left that didn’t come. They came into the house of Ba'al; and the house of Ba'al was filled from one end to

another. He said to him who was over the vestry, “Bring out robes for all the worshippers of Ba'al!”

He brought robes out to them

which refers to the vestments provided for the worshippers of Ba’al. Yâhuwshúa’’s authority for the parable of the man at the wedding

feast

with no wedding garment comes from this passage. We see in the

account of Shimshon that the bridegroom provided his guests with the proper apparel, so there was no excuse not to wear it. Wearing the right

clothes also links us to

Rev. 3:3, Remember therefore how you have received and heard [My Name] and

guard it and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I shall come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I shall come upon you.

Where Yâhuwshúa tells us those who do not defile their garments will be worthy to walk with Him in white (apparel). Remember that priests are the ones in Ysra'al who wore white. Yâhuwshúa’’s saying that if we

overcome, we will be at that level. If we have already defiled our garments, He offers to let us buy from Him more white garments. He says those who are lukewarm, merely tipping their hat to Yâhuwshúa,

thinking they are well-dressed, are really naked, for they have the wrong clothing.

Rev. 3:18

I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, so that you become rich; and white robes to be clothed, so that the shame of your

nakedness may not be seen;

[they are not "covered - labash" by the robe of Yâhuwshúa’’s Righteousness.]

But in this context, He is not so much condemning the clothing as those

who wore it. The phrase would have had a similar connotation to “Parisian” today—expensive, and thus affordable only by the privileged class, who usually got to that point by serving something other than Yâ-

hwuah. The salient example was these very “sons of the king”. Remember, too, that he was prophesying this message of judgment to

those who would be his own cousins.

TsephanYahuw 1:9

In that Day, I will punish all those who leap over the threshold [“who walk by the laws of the Filistines”], who fill their master’s house with

violence and deceit.

Dagon/Moloch/Catholic

Leap over the threshold: a practice begun in honor of Dagon, whose face landed on the threshold when it fell down before the captured Ark of the

Covenant and broke.

1 Shmu’el 5:4-5 When they arose early on the next day morning, behold, Dagown was fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of YaHuWaH; and the head of Dagown and both the palms of his hands lay cut off on the

threshold; only the stump of Dagown was left to him. Therefore neither the priests of Dagown, nor any who come into Dagown’s house, tread on

the threshold of Dagown in Ashdowd, to this day.

The Aramaic targum substitutes, “who walk by the laws of the

Filistines”, suggesting that this is indeed what is alluded to. This may have later evolved to the custom of carrying a bride over the threshold, because it was believed that an evil spirit lay beneath it. In an ancient

chant, Mars is beseeched to leap over the threshold. In pagan

slaughters, the blood was drained into a basin built into the threshold, symbolizing a covenant with whatever ALuaHiYM they were sacrificing to. But in Y’hezq’el we often see Yâ-hwuah’s Qabod standing at the

threshold of the Temple. (9:3; 10:4)

Qabod means weightiness or importance.

Those who jump over a threshold, then, are refusing to recognize that they are entering a Set-apart place, and denying Ya-hwuah’s authority

and covenant. No one respects authority, since each is out for self.

TsephanYahuw 1:10 In That Day, says Yâ-hwuah, there will be the noise of a cry from the

fish gate, a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.

Second: or “new quarter”, also referred to in

2 Kings 22:14; So HilkiYahuw the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of

Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Yahrushalom in the second quarter); and they talked with her.

the Aramaic targum substitutes Ofel, since it was near this “second quarter”, and it is mentioned together with the Fish Gate in

2 Chron. 33:14.

Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of Dawiyd, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he

encircled Ophel with it, and raised it up to a very great height: and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Yahuwdah.

Hills: stone piles, in some Aramaic versions.

TsephanYahuw 1:11

Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh [place of pounding], for all the people of Kena'aniy [merchant nation] are undone! All those who were loaded

with silver are cut off.

Place of pounding: or deep hollow. The imagery is that of a mortar and pestle, for in a place where foreign trade took place within Ysra'al, the

gold and silver that had been shaped into idolatrous jewelry would have to be pounded into powder and reshaped into something acceptable. The whole merchant nation: literally, all the people of Kana'an. The

targum interprets it this way. Again, royal families were nearly the only ones in pre-exilic times who would hire merchants and traders. The

Aramaic targum has “Kidron Valley”

TsephanYahuw 1:12 It will happen at that Time that I will search Yahrushalom with lamps, and I will punish the men who are settled on their dregs, who say in

their heart, “Yâ-hwuah will not do good, neither will He do evil.”

Condensing: or curdling, thickening, as wine in the process of fermentation does when it sits too long in one position without being

turned. Aramaic, who lie at ease upon their wealth. Having not found Yâ-

TsephanYahuw 1:14 The Great Day of Yâ-hwuah is near. It is near, and hurries greatly,

the Voice of the Day of Yâ-hwuah. The brave man cries there bitterly.

The last phrase could read, “The brave man there will cry bitterly.”

TsephanYahuw 1:15 That Day is a day of wrath, a day of distress and dire straits, a day of

trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,

TsephanYahuw 1:16 a day of the shofar and battle-alarm, against the fortified cities, and

against the high battlements. (Shofar points to Yom Kippur; battle-alarm to Yom Teruah)

Battle-alarm: Heb, t’ruah, the term for the first day of the seventh month

(Lev. 23:24), so this may be when the day being described will fall in the annual

calendar. Bulwarks: or corner-towers.

Bereshiyth 8:14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the

earth was dry.

(The "flood" of destruction was on the earth for 370 days while Yâ-hwuah 's people (Noah and family) were safe in His ark.) [This was 370 days after the flood began up to the time they emerged from the ark ... or one year and ten days, at that time—the same length as the

interval between one Feast of Trumpets until Yom Kippur the following

year.] - a 360 day year

YashaYahuw 32:10 For a few days beyond a year you shall be troubled, (for a little more

than a year you complacent women; for the vintage shall fail. The harvest won’t come. ...

YashaYahuw 34:8

For Yâ-hwuah has a Day of Vengeance, a Year of Recompense for the cause of Tsiyown.

Its [Edom's] streams shall be turned into tar, its dust into brimstone, And its land shall become burning asphalt.

YashaYahuw 34:11 But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it. The owl and the raven shall dwell in it. Then He shall stretch the measuring line of chaos over

it, and the plumb line of emptiness [waste].

[Chaos: Heb., tohu. Emptiness: or “waste”; Heb., bohu. These two terms were used of what the earth became

Bereshiyth. 1:2

And the earth came to be desolate and ruined. ["the earth became tohu and bohu ] Darkness was on the surface of the deep. Aluahiym’s

Ruwach/Breath was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Had become: the verb is usually not used if it simply means "was", with

no change involved. The creation described here is really a reconstitution after some sort of cataclysm--probably related to Heylel (Lucifer) and

accomplices being cast down to earth and judged. The "depth" or "deep" often refers to an ocean or a surging, uproarious mass of water, but in the Greek Septuagint (LXX) it is translated "abyss" (a scene of disaster or place of punishment). Such an age may have included the reign of a

now-disembodied race of heavenly beings (compare chapter 6), and may explain the appearance that the earth is more ancient than the 6,000-year history of mankind. YashaYahuw 45:18 tells us that Yâ-hwuah did NOT create the earth "a chaotic ruin"--the same word used here. So we know something changed. It became confused and was emptied out as

something that came before was destroyed. This is the aftermath, compared to the result of Yâ-hwuah ’s vengeance on another occasion For Yâ-hwuah has a Day of Vengeance, a year of recompense for the

cause of Tsiyown. Its [Edom's] streams shall be turned into tar, its dust into brimstone, And its land shall become burning asphalt. It won’t be

quenched night nor day. Its smoke shall ascend a long time. From generation to generation, it shall lie waste. No one shall pass through it

line of chaos over it, and the plumb line of emptiness [waste]. when the end result is also chaos and emptiness—the same words used here, with numerous other examples of destruction and desolation given in the same context. Obscuring darkness: like that which protected Yâ-

hwuah 's people during the Exodus, in which we also see the other elements mentioned here of “an ancient wind”, water, dry land being

brought out of the waters, confusion for the pursuers, and the revelation at daybreak that they were all dead. In that act, YaHuWaH transformed

a group of slaves into a new nation which would be the vessel for bringing still further order to the world. (Ex. 14:19ff) Darkness is called Yâ-hwuah 's temporarily dwelling in 2 Sam. 22:12, yet still there is said to be a brightness that precedes Him; compare Iyob 36:23) A mighty

wind: This sentence could read "a Ruwach of Aluahiym intervened deliberately upon..." But there is no definite article here, and Aluahiym is

occasionally used as a superlative adjective (paralleled in English with words such as "god-like"). "Fluttered" can also be translated “hovered”

or "brooded", as a dove waits over her hatched young until all is in

readiness. On a more metaphorical level, "a ruin and desolation" could be translated "an empty space and a void". Other forms of the word for “transform” or "create" (v. 1) mean "to cut out" or "to make fat". The

mystical retelling continues: the Endless One, wanting to share Himself, yet being all that there was, had no one to communicate with, so He

created a "vacuum"--a space within Himself, which was "not Himself", so He could fill it with creatures who could know and enjoy Him. A mother's womb is an excellent illustration of this idea. Into this empty space, He sent a single point of light, the maximum amount of His nature that this

new universe could as yet tolerate:

the seventh month

Lev. 23:24 “Speak to the children of Ysra'al, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month [a new moon], shall be a solemn rest to you, a

memorial of blowing of shofars, a Set-apart convocation.

this then will be the day when what is being described will fall in the annual calendar.]

TsephanYahuw 1:17

I will bring distress on men [great tribulation], that they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against Yâ-hwuah , and their blood

will be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung.

TsephanYahuw 1:18

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the Day of Yâ-hwuah’s wrath, but the whole earth will be devoured by the fire of His jealousy; for He will accomplish a complete - not to mention speedy -

destruction for all who inhabit the earth.

They have money, but no skills useful to His Kingdom.

TsephanYahuw 2:1

Gather together, yes, gather together, O shameless nation,

Assemble…gather: He repeats the command, emphasizing its importance. Both phrases have the same root word in Hebrew, which

actually means to forage for straw, stubble, or wood. It is the same term used of Pharaoh’s making us find our own straw to make bricks. Not longed for: or, having no desire within itself; the Aramaic takes this

view: “the generation that does not desire to return to the Torah.” In YashaYahuw 64:6-7, we see that no one is aroused to hold Yâ-hwuah tightly, but keeps Him at a distance with clothing that tells Him we are off-limits to Him. But the faster we return to Him, the more quickly He

will return to us. Here it is the gathering together of community that we do not seem eager for, but at the critical time described below, we

cannot survive without that gathering together. It is through hardship such as that which Pharaoh forced upon us that our desire for

community rather than individual inheritance will grow. Since we keep

making the same mistakes, we need opposition to make us band together.

TsephanYahuw 2:2

before the Appointed Time [Yom Kippur] when the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Yâ-hwuah comes on you, before the

Day of Yâ-hwuah ’s anger comes on you.

Before the decree: to allow this fierce wrath to be released. Act while there is still time to act.

TsephanYahuw 2:3 Seek Yâ-hwuah’s, all you humble of the earth, who have kept His

ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility; if so be that you will be hidden in the Day of Yâ-hwuah’s wrath.

The only ones who might not feel the full heat of the fierce anger of v. 2 are those who gather together. (v. 1) Here we see that only those who have already been doing justice will be allowed to survive. But still note the uncertainty, because though they have been ascending, there are

flood waters coming (suggested by verse 5), and we have not risen high enough to avoid being overwhelmed by them. (Tehillim 124) Keeping

Torah is not enough to constitute righteousness; we must do so together, where our motives are proven.

TsephanYahuw 2:4

For Azzah will be forsaken, and Ashqelown a desolation. They will drive

out Ashdowd at noonday, and Eqrown will be rooted up.

Abandoned: Heb., ‘azuvah, a play on the Hebrew name for Gaza (‘azah). In broad daylight: literally, at the glistening of noon. All the places

mentioned here are in the Land of Y’Isra’al, and already Gaza is being abandoned by none other than the government of Y’Isra’al itself, and the

rest of these cities may be swallowed up by those to whom they are foolishly giving the Land away. The Land will bear the brunt of the wrath mentioned in verse 2, possibly I the battle that will precipitate the fall of Babylon. Some strongholds may be left, but it appears that before the Messiah brings us back in, even Yehudah will lose most of the Land. Yahshua warned us of such a time. (Luqa 21:21) Eqron’s very name means “emigration”! The gathering together in verse 1 may refer to Yehudah, who is in the Land but broken into many factions. For the

Northern Kingdom, this prophecy of what is coming upon the Land is a warning that our gathering together must take place before we return

there. (Compare Zkh. 10:9)

TsephanYahuw 2:5 Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Kerethiy! The

Word of Yâ-hwuah is against you, Kena'an, the land of the Pelishtiym. I will destroy you, that there will be no inhabitant.

It almost seems that Yâ-hwuah will bring a great tidal wave to wipe out

this coastal area.

Amowts 5:8 seek Him Who made the Kimah (seven stars) and Kesil (Orion), and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark

with night; Who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on

the surface of the earth: Yâ-hwuah is His Name! [Tsunami?]

Amowts 5:9

He causes devastation to burst forth upon the fierce, so that devastation comes upon the stronghold. -----

Amows 9:5

For Yâ-hwuah, Aluah Master of Armies, is He Who touches the earth and it melts, and all who dwell in it will mourn; and it will rise up wholly like

the river, and will sink again, like the River of Mitsrayim.

Amows 9:6 It is He Who builds His chambers in the heavens, and has founded His strata in the earth; He Who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours

them out on the surface of the earth; Yâ-hwuah’ is His Name.

Rev. 8:8-9 The second messenger blew his trumpet, and something like a great

mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea. One third of the sea became blood, and one third of the living creatures which were in the

sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

[In the literal, could this possibly be parts of a comet or an asteroid striking one of the oceans - a deep impact scenario?] or the fall of Babel

- second messengers message

Second Plague: The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man. Every living thing in the sea died.

(Usually "sea" in the Scriptures refers to the Mediterranean)

TsephanYahuw 2:6 The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for

flocks. Meadows: or, cottages, shanties; Aramaic, camp. Flock: though this will

undoubtedly be literally true since Y’Isra’alites are known first and foremost as being shepherds (Gen. 47:3), the term “flock” suggests the nation of Y’Isra’al herself as well (as v. 14 seems to bear out), who will

again possess the land that was lost:

TsephanYahuw 2:7 The coast will be for the remnant of the House of Yahuwdah. They will

find pasture. In the houses of Ashqelown, they will lie down in the evening, for Yâ-hwuah’, their Al, will visit them, and restore them.

All of the areas mentioned in v. 4 are in the ancient tribal territory of YaHuWdaH. Muster them: Aramaic, their record will go in for the best before Yâ-hwuah. Come back: This has taken place once, but did not

fulfill the entire prophecy. Therefore, it must occur again.

TsephanYahuw 2:8

I have heard the reproach of Mow'ab, and the insults of the children of Am'mown, with which they have reproached My people, and magnified

themselves against their border.

TsephanYahuw 2:9 Therefore as I live, says Yâ-hwuah’s Master of Armies, the Al of Ysra'al,

surely Mow'ab will be as Sedom, and the children of Ammown as Amor'rah, a possession of nettles, and salt pits, and a perpetual desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them, and

the survivors of My nation will inherit them.

Nettles: Aramaic, salt-plants. These nations did not offer Y’Isra’al bread and water (Deut. 23:4), so their ability to offer anyone bread and water

is removed. They wanted to be more than Yâ-hwuah had allotted for them, so now they will lose everything. Y’hezq’el 47:11 says that part of

the Dead Sea will be left for salt when the rest of it becomes fresh water again. That part must affect Moav and Ammon. Moav does have a coast

directly on the Dead Sea.

TsephanYahuw 2:10 This they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and

magnified themselves against the people of Yâ-hwuah’s Master of Armies.

Blasphemed: or, railed; Aramaic, ridiculed.

TsephanYahuw 2:11

Yâ-hwuah’s will be awesome to them, for He will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship Him, everyone from his place, even all the

shores of the nations.

Famish all: shrivel, starve, dry up. Held in awe: or, dreaded. Coastlands: or islands; compare the one coastal region of Y’Isra’al being

discussed in vv. 4-6.

TsephanYahuw 2:12

You Kuwshiy also, you will be killed by My sword.

Kuwshiy: apparently relatives of Ts’fanyah just as Yehudah was. (1:1)

TsephanYahuw 2:13 He will stretch out His hand against the north, destroy Ashshuwr, and

will make Niyneweh desolation, as dry as the wilderness.

Nin’veh: Though they repented once under Yonah, the city eventually returned to its wicked ways.

TsephanYahuw 2:14

Herds will lie down in the midst of her, all the animals of the nations.

Both the pelican and the porcupine will lodge in its capitals. Their calls will echo through the windows. Desolation will be in the thresholds, for

He has laid bare the cedar beams.

Pelican: or some other bird that regurgitates its food, because the root word means “to vomit”. Hedgehog: or possibly porcupine or bittern, but

the Aramaic has “pelican and hedgehog” as well. A voice: Aramaic, sound of the bird that chirps. Capitals: or upper lintels. Aramaic, her

gates shall be destroyed, and her ceilings they will tear down. The cedar panels underlay the stone exterior. (Note the construction of the Temple

of Shlomo in 1 Kings 6.)

TsephanYahuw 2:15

This is the triumphant city that lived carelessly, that said in her heart, “I am, and there is none besides me.” How she has become desolation, a place for animals to lie down in! Everyone who passes by her will hiss,

and shake their fists.

Triumphant city: Assyria apparently passed on its scepter to Babylon when conquered, for it took the same attitude. (Daniel 4:30) “I am…”: i.e., “I am the one!” or, I exist, and (apart from me) there is no other. This is only Yâ-hwuah ’s prerogative to say. (Isaiah 43:10, 11) Waggle

his hand: to shake or snap it out as is still done in some nations as a sign of strong recognition of the inappropriateness or regrettable

condition of what one sees. The idea is the equivalent of tittering with one’s tongue to express the thought, “What a shame!” Aramaic, shake

his fist.

TsephanYahuw 3:1

Woe to her who is defiant and polluted, the oppressing city! [Yahrushalom]

Polluted: or defiant. Mistreats: Aramaic, multiplies provocations. City: not

Rome or Babylon, but Yerushalayim! (vv. 4-5)

There has never been a time when Yahrushalom has been oppressing the whole earth. But a treaty was already ratified under the Clinton

administration that gives the Vatican jurisdiction over what will be called the first truly international city, and it only remains to be implemented. It would then no longer be considered the capital of Y’Isra’al, which is one reason many nations have held back from placing their embassies there.

The stage is set for the covenant of

Dani'el 9:27. nd he shall confirm the covenant with the many one seven; and in the

middle of the seven he shall cause the slaughters and the grain offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes

desolate; even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed/determined is poured out on the one who lays waste.'

(or makes desolate - the abomination of desolation)

A civil war in Y’Isra’al over the withdrawal from the “settlements” could be the catalyst for the United Nations sending troops in to bring control

by enacting this treaty.

TsephanYahuw 3:2

She didn’t obey the Voice. She didn’t receive correction. She didn’t trust in Yâ-hwuah. She didn’t draw near to her Al.

TsephanYahuw 3:3

Her rulers within her are roaring lions; her judges are wolves of the evening. They do not [even] gnaw [the bones] for the break of day.

Gnaw: or leave the bones.

TsephanYahuw 3:4

Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her priests have profaned the Set-apart Place. They have done violence to the Torah.

TsephanYahuw 3:5 Yâ-hwuah’, in the midst of her, is righteous. He will do no wrong. Every

morning He brings His justice to light. He doesn’t fail, but the unjust know no shame.

In the middle of all this uncleanness, Yâ-hwuah will still be there,

probably because the Temple will be rebuilt right among the churches and mosques that will probably all cover the Temple Mount (suggested

by Rev. 11:2.) Do injustice: Aramaic, act deceitfully (in regard to a promise He has made). Brings…to light: Yâ-hwuah will do something

that makes their error obvious (such as restoring the pillar of fire over the Temple?) but they will not have eyes to see it. Failed: Aramaic, been

held back.

TsephanYahuw 3:6 I have cut off nations. Their battlements are desolate. I have made their

streets waste, so that no one passes by. Their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.

battlements: or battlements; Aramaic, fortresses.

TsephanYahuw 3:7

I said, “Just fear Me. Receive correction, so that her dwelling/refuge

won’t be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her.” But they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

Her refuge…cut off: Yerushalayim is known as the gateway between

heaven and earth. If you do not stop acting so corruptly—if even it loses its Sacredness--there will be no hope left for humanity. (Compare Mark 13:20; Z’kharyah 13:8-14:21.) Got up early: an idiom for being quick or

eager to do what is described in the next phrase.

“Therefore wait for Me,” says Yâ-hwuah, “until The Day that I rise up to the prey, for My determination [legal right] is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, even all

My fierce anger, for all the wicked of the earth will be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

[Gather: as the darnel or tares are gathered first to be burned before

the wheat is gathered in.

Mat. 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I shall tell the reapers, “First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in

bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my granary.”’”

The whole earth: Aramaic, all the wicked of the earth. This verse includes all the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, signifying that Hebrew is

the language being referred to in the next verse:]

TsephanYahuw 3:9

For then I will return to the people a pure language (Trueness of Speech), that they may all call on the Name of Yâ-hwuah, to serve Him

with one accord (shoulder-blade).

Turn over/will return: change or transform. Clarified language: or purged, purified lip. This is the same terminology used of the time prior

to the tower of Bavel. (Gen. 11:1) The names before Bavel all make sense in Hebrew, and Bavel means “confusion”; “clarified” would indicate

the reversal of this curse, which was imposed because they were indeed working “with one shoulder-blade” (all working in the same direction; or, as interpreted in Aramaic, with one accord), but they were going in the

wrong direction. The learning of this language will probably not be automatic or magical. So get a head start by learning Hebrew now!

Ephesians 4:25

So put off the Lie, speak the Truth, each with his neighbor, because we belong to each other.

From beyond the rivers of Kuwsh, My worshipers, even the daughter of

My dispersed people, will bring My offering.

TsephanYahuw 3:11 In That Day you will not be disappointed for all your doings, in which you have transgressed against Me; for then I will take away out of the

midst of you your proudly exulting ones, and you will no more be haughty in My Set-apart Mountain.

You: probably not the Muslims or Catholics, but those who have joined themselves to Y’Isra’al yet are still self-centered. Self will be put in its

place! Rebelled: or, crossed a boundary.

TsephanYahuw 3:12

“And I will leave a diminished and humbled people in your midst, and they will flee to the Name of Yâ-hwuah for protection.

TsephanYahuw 3: 13. “What is left of Ysra'al will not practice injustice or speak lies, nor will a fraudulent tongue be found in their mouths, because they [themselves]

will graze and stretch out with no one to make them tremble.”

Fraudulent: or deceitful. Graze: Aramaic, maintain themselves. Stretch out: Aram., settle down. There is no excuse for any sin, because we will

be nearly as well-provided for as Adam in Eden.

Rev. 14:4 These are those who were not defiled with women

(the harlot and her daughters of Rev. 17),

goes. These were redeemed by Yâhuwshúa` from among men, and

doctrine], for they are blameless.

the first-fruit offering is made on the day after the Shabbath that falls during ULB - in the fullness of the day.

"Of His Own Will He brought us forth by the Word of Truth

(Yâhuwshúa), that we might be a kind of First-Fruits of all He created."

Ya'aqob 1:18 In their mouth was found no lie [do not harbor falsehood or false

doctrine], for they are blameless.

TsephanYahuw 3:14

Sing, daughter of Tsiyown! Shout, Ysra'al! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Yahrushalom.

Daughter: Aramaic, congregation.

TsephanYahuw 3:15

Yâ-hwuah has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The Sovereign of Ysra'al, Yâ-hwuah, is in the midst of you. You

will not be afraid of evil any more.

Here are three reasons not to be afraid. There seem to be several allusions to Tehillim 23 here, especially in the pastoral context of v. 13.

Fear any evil: or, see disaster.

TsephanYahuw 3:16

In That Day, it will be said to Yahrushalom, “Don’t be afraid, Tsiyown.

Don’t let your hands be slack.”

Slack: or limp, in this case not from laziness but from fear.

TsephanYahuw 3:17

Yâ-hwuah, your Aluahiym, is in the midst of you, a Mighty One Who will rescue. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in His love. He

will rejoice over you with singing.

Calm you: Aramaic, subdue your sins.

[Yâ-hwuah your Aluahiym is a Hero in your midst; He will rescue! He will gladly display joy over you; He will be speechless in His love. He will

delight over you with a ringing cry of joy.]

TsephanYahuw 3:18

I will remove those who grieve about the Appointed Feasts from you. They are a burden and a reproach to you.

Grieve: sorrowful because they cannot believe what is still going on. It is

supposed to vex us when those with His Name on them are not gathering. (2:1) He will gather those who are used to gathering. (Heb.

10:25) Aramaic, Those who were delaying among you the times of your festivals, I have removed from your midst. Woe to them, for they were

taking up their arms against you and reviling you.

TsephanYahuw 3:19 Behold, at That Time I will deal with all those who afflict you, and I will rescue those who are lame, and gather those who were driven away. I

will give them praise and esteem, whose shame has been in all the earth.

Lame, thrust away: the Aramaic takes them as idioms for being exiled

and scattered. Thrust away: possibly excluded by those in charge because they recognize a different calendar and different feast days.

TsephanYahuw 3:20

At That Time will I bring you in, and at That Time will I gather you; for I will give you esteem and praise among all the peoples of the earth,

when I restore your blessings before your eyes, says Yâ-hwuah.

This will not be accomplished by a political act or backroom dealing to

slip people through the borders, but when the time comes, we will have a name. If we are with the Mâshíyach when He comes Home, how can we help but have a “ticket” into the Land? After He takes care of al this business, He will take us in. You do not have to promote yourself if He

gives you a name. Compare Avram with the Tower of Bavel in

A rule necessary, and of great extent.

A servant in the Gospel Vineyard, though worthy of his Comfortable

support while in the work. Should never preach for hire, or make a

secular traffic of the Ruwach (spiritual work): what a scandal is it for a

man to traffic with gifts which he pretends, at least, to have received

from the Ruwach HaQodesh, of which he is not the master, but the

dispenser. He who preaches to get a living, or make a fortune, is guilty of

the most infamous sacrilege
