) -- .., of'., '. ---- "- ( NORTH SOMERSET COUNCIL (SOUTH BRISTOL LINK) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2013 THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981 The North Somerset District Council (known as North Somerset Council) in this order called "the acquiring authority" acting under an agreement with the Bristol City Council pursuant to Section 8 of the Highways Act 1980 hereby makes the following order: Subject to the provisions of this order the acquiring authority is, under sections 239, 240, 246, 249 and 250 of tiie Highways Act 1980, hereby authorised to purchase compulsorily the land described in paragraph 2. 2 The land and new rights authorised to be purchased compulsorily under this order are: (a¡ For the purpose of: (i) the construction and improvement of a highway between the A370 in the Unitary Authority of North Somerset Council and Cater Road roundabout in the Unitary Authority of Bristol City Council (ii) the construction of other highways and improvement of existing highways in the vicinity of the route of the above mentioned highway in pursuance of the North Somerset Council (South Bristol Link Classified Road) (Side Roads) Order 2013; (iii) the provision of new means of access to premises in the pursuance of the North Somerset Council (South Bristol Link Classified Road) (Side Roads) Order 2013; (iv) the diversion of a watercourse and the carrying out of other works on watercourses in connection with the construction and improvement of highways as aforesaid; (v) use by the acquiring authority in connection with the construction and improvement of highways the provision of new means of access to premises as aforesaid; (vi) mitigating the adverse effect which the existence or use of the highway proposed to be constructed or improved will have on the surroundings thereof;
