1 CELEBRATE “MEDIA WITH IMPACT” WITH NJTV Join NJTV for an unforgettable gala celebrating the public media network’s initiatives, and honor one of the state’s most influential leaders who makes us all Jersey-proud. This year, Ralph Izzo, Chairman, President and CEO of PSEG will be honored, joining the distinguished list of past NJTV gala honorees, including U.S. Senator Cory Booker and NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal. The gala puts NJTV’s mission on full display: to innovatively tell New Jersey’s story in a way that enlightens, educations and entertains. We are proud to showcase the talents, stories and triumphs of the Garden State — NJTV’s gala includes performances by jazz musician Brian Newman and the Camden Sophisticated Sisters Drill Team. We look forward to seeing you at American Beauty at Embassy Suites by Hilton Berkeley Heights for an evening of cocktails, dinner and entertainment. MAY 2018 N JTV announced four new locations to continue its In Your Neighborhood initiative in 2018. A powerful combination of news, special programming and community engagement events, NJTV will again use its on-air and digital platforms and personnel to showcase some of the Garden State’s most dynamic places this year, shining a spotlight on the people, cultural fabric and issues that make those areas tick and the history that grounds them. First stop in 2018: Montclair during one of the town’s biggest events — the Montclair Film Festival. “We look forward to another year of visiting new towns across New Jersey and using all of NJTV’s platforms — from broadcast and online to special events — to explore topics like education, infrastructure, politics, commerce, health, arts, culture and more in each location,” said NJTV General Manager John Servidio. In Your Neighborhood: Montclair kicks off with a special live early edition of the network’s newscast, NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams (5:30pm) featuring headlining news and scheduled interviews with local guests, followed by a live hour-long program NJTV In Your Neighborhood Special at 6pm, both broadcast from Raymond’s restaurant on Church Street. The evening’s line-up will include Montclair-centric episodes of One-on-One with Steve Adubato (7pm), State of the Arts: The Montclair Show (9pm), Pasta & Politics with Nick Acocella (9:30pm) and Speakeasy featuring musician Nick Lowe at the Montclair Film Festival (10pm). Continuing the conversation, a community event will take place at the United Way of Northern New Jersey on May 24, where the network’s engagement team will gather groups of residents, thought leaders and stakeholders to discuss issues affecting Montclair. “The response to this initiative from the communities we have visited to date has been tremendous,” said Servidio. “Residents are always asking us when we’ll be back.” Future In Your Neighborhood stops slated for 2018 include Vineland, Wildwood and Princeton.
