And underneath that coat of paint, even older graffiti. Customers entering the Hopewell Shopping Center from Valentine Lane pass a vacant car wash turned out- doors vice haven. According to Hopewell administrator Will Daddario, the center’s owner has entered a sale contract with “a local businessman.” Following recent talks with the prospective buyer, Daddario said that improve- ments will be made to the car wash structure or that it will be demolished. Currently, a pending state Department of Environmen- tal Protection (DEP) inspec- tion postpones any sale. An oil tank buried near the car wash building will be removed and the surround- ing soil must be replaced. Keith O’Brien and Joe Probst were on-duty when their 2010 Chev- rolet Impala police car collided with a 2000 Ford Excursion at Baptist/Ackley Road and County Road 553 in the New- port section of Downe Township. The student’s injuries were not life- threatening. The stabbing occurred during an altercation in an outdoor courtyard at around 11:30 a.m. as students were transitioning between classrooms between periods, acting Bridgeton Pub- lic Schools Superintendent Dr. Thoma- sina Jones said Monday afternoon. The altercation, which authori- ties said involved just three students, apparently stemmed from a larger fight at Lincoln and Fayette streets Sunday evening. The 12-year-old Fairfield Township boxer has traveled all the way to the PAL Nationals in San Antonio, Texas, to bring home a title. She will fight once. It will be Saturday for the 119-pound title. “There’s only one other boxer in her weight class in her age bracket,’’ said her coach, Terry Gould, over the phone Monday night.
