    Mazar Industrial Park, in15.0ha of area,located 22 km east of Mazar-e-Sharif city,distributed to 25 industrial companies, thoughsome of companies are not operationalbecause of unavailability of grid power still

    more than 500 Afghans are working in thispark. AISA is currently in the process ofimplementing the grid power transmissionline project to the park. Adjacent to the park

    there is 10.0ha more land available for futureexpansion.

    The largest Industrial Park is the Hisar-e-ShahiIndustrial Park, located 24 km southeast of

    Jalalabad City with 206 ha area. The World Bankprovided USD 13.5 million to AISA for thedevelopment of this project.

    The power distribution and street lighting project ofthe park is now under construction from AISAs

    budget.AISA has received more than 400 land request

    applications from local and internationalentrepreneurs and are under process for selection.

    AISA industrial park projects represent a uniqueopportunity for investors to establish and expandtheir business in Afghanistans increasingly

    important market and profitable businessenvironment while enjoying the benefits of attractivetax incentives and , low cost workforce. Afghanistan'sindustrial parks would help in:Reducing risk and avoiding potentially costly land title

    disputes.Reducing delays related to site acquisition, zoningand permitting .Benefiting from high quality infrastructure (asphalt

    roads, reliable power and water supply system, firefighting system, security, sewerage and solid wastemanagement system) and professionallymanagement of the park.

    According to the statistics provided by theIndustrial Association, 293 factories areoperating in Kabul and have 22,000 workers.

    The relevant officials said the number ofworkers will be increased to 30,000 once theproblem of power shortages has beenresolved.

    Economic experts believes the best way to hike theeconomy is to support and increase domesticmanufactures. Increasing domestic production anddecreasing imports is the only way for the countrys

    economic stability.Decreasing unemployment rate.Improving the quality of life of the Afghan people.Goods and services will be available at low prices.

    Self sufficient afghanistan.
