NFPA® 1033 is the Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator. This NFPA® standard sets
forth the minimum job performance qualifications for fire investigators in both the public and private
sectors. NFPA® 1033 is a national standard recognized and accepted by judicial courts at the state and
federal levels. This course will provide a review and explanation of the most current job performance
requirements (JPRs) identified in the current edition of NFPA® 1033. Students will also be provided up-to-
date and current information on all of the 16 knowledge areas identified in Chapter 1.3.7 of NFPA® 1033.
