My work at TWR: an update 02 ISSUE February 2012 In May 2011, I joined the Media Services Department at TWR Europe as an administrative assistant. I’ve been enjoying my work very much. I’ve learned a lot of new things from my colleagues and am still learning things. As I mentioned in the previous newsletter, my responsibilities are as follows: checking and distributing listener and airing reports to TWR’s sponsors making proposals for new projects updating IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) documents helping with the annual budgeting process Now I’ve become more responsible for the IPR documents, as it is very important to “guard” the Intellectual Property Rights for our new radio programs and I’m the first contact person in our department of Media Services in Europe. I’m very happy that I’m getting more responsibility at TWR, because I will also be responsible for new projects (programs). In the near future I will be very busy with work. My financial support has been progressing promisingly. I pray every day for it and God has provided me with unexpected supporters. Some people have contacted me because they wanted to support me, even though I haven’t asked. It’s really God’s work. It’s still not easy for me to ask people to join my support team. I think that only prayer can make it fully possible. I believe in God’s power in His time. I’m currently at 24.3% of the amount TWR is asking me to raise. It’s still far to go to 100% in our thoughts, but it will come true in His time. In May 2011, I joined the Media Services Department at TWR Europe as an administrative assistant. I’ve been enjoying my work very much. I’ve learned a lot of new things from my colleagues and am still learning things.

As I mentioned in the previous newsletter, my responsibilities are as follows:• checking and distributing listener

and airing reports to TWR’s sponsors

• making proposals for new projects• updating IPR (Intellectual Property

Rights) documents • helping with the annual budgeting

process

Now I’ve become more responsible for the IPR documents, as it is very important to “guard” the Intellectual Property Rights for our new radio programs and I’m the first contact person in our department of Media Services in Europe.

I’m sure of it!

SupportThank you for your financial support and your prayers!

Listeners’ ResponsesTWR receives hundreds of thousands of responses from listeners around the world each year. I love to share them with you!

A listener from YemenThe Arab World consists of 22 countries including Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The region is home to an estimated 315 million people. Amid the ongoing unrests, our broadcasts continue to deliver spiritual programming to the region. Four hours of Arabic programs (both a local version and a classical Arabic) air uninterrupted daily on medium wave/AM.

Rami is a young non-Christian Yemeni, who has been a victim of harsh social, economic, and spiritual circumstances. At age 24, he married the girl he deeply loved, but only a few hours after the wedding he discovered that her cousin had raped her when she was still young, and that he had even married her older sister. It was definitely not the family Rami had dreamed of! After countless conflicts, he divorced her.

His heart pounded again a few years later but it seemed that love was not destined for him! Because of his poor economic condition, the girl’s family would not accept him. During these difficult circumstances, Rami began listening to the TWR Arabic broadcasts. He heard about God’s love and provision, His mighty hand that heals the broken hearts and wounds. He began to correspond with TWR’s Arabic follow-up staff.

In the midst of his economic situation, especially with the difficulties Yemen has been experiencing, Rami called us asking for financial help. We replied that it is not possible but we encouraged him to seek God who gives abundantly in His own time and ways!

Rami, still struggling with the “God of Christians,” not being sure whether Jesus is the Son of God or not, heard about Jesus through a TWR broadcast. He decided to pray to Him and ask for a miracle, so he prayed: “Dear Jesus, if you are the Son of God, and if you love me and died for me, I need you now to help me.”

Later, Rami told us that on the very same day, he heard a knock on his door. It was one of his relatives who brought him some money as a gift. There was no reason behind this gift, but he was certain that it was Jesus who made it happen! From that day onwards, Rami’s life changed forever! He now believes in the almighty God and has accepted Christ as his Savior. Now he wants to help others meet the Lord as well.

He used to struggle with the heavy waves of despair, mistrust, hatred, and revenge, but now he is on the safe and peaceful shore where love and forgiveness abide. Who would have thought that a radio broadcast could make a person expect a miracle from God?! Yes, this is what radio can do in such closed countries as in the Arab World. It can proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and penetrate to the hardest places and to the most hurting souls to redeem, restore, and recreate a new person!

Prayer requests

• Please pray for me to trust God fully during this time of support-raising. I want to experience God’s grace through this process!

• Please pray for us during my maternity leave in which I hope to give birth to a healthy baby. Please ask God to watch over us!

• Please pray for TWR and my colleagues who will take over my work during my maternity leave.

Thank you for your prayers!
