White Colour Day

20th Thursday, 2020

White is inherently a positive colour, which is associated with purity, innocence, light,

goodness, brilliance, faith and perfection. It also represents a successful beginning. The

colour white is reflective and stimulates openness, growth and creativity.

Pre-primary students of DPS84 celebrated White Colour Day. Students looked gorgeous in

their white attire. Classrooms and boards were decorated with white coloured objects

which gave graceful appeal to the environment. Students participated in making sheep by

pasting cotton. These activities were conducted with the objective of developing their fine

motor & gross motor skills. Students participated in explaining the toys brought by them.

The idea was to develop their spoken skills. They enjoyed their activity and performed

enthusiastically.

DPS 84, Gurugram organized an

educational trip to “Neverenuf

Railway Park” for the students of

Nursery on February 14,

2020. Students were amazed to

see the railway tracks, engines, jet

boats, fire station etc., that

entranced the tiny tots and a wave

of excitement shot through the

group. Students were delighted to

see the “Miniature Transport”

which included old and new

townships with various modes of

transport – Air, Water and Road.

Students came back with a

Pandora's Box of Knowledge,

which made the excursion fruitful

and joyous.

INNOVATIVE CLASSES:

SOCIAL STUDIES

Students of Grade IX had a presentation on „Infringement of Democratic Rights‟ -

regarding how Citizens‟ Rights are being violated in some countries. They exhibited some

real-life cases of North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Nepal and many other countries and through

their presentations they made the audience understand that one cannot imagine living

without rights and to understand the importance of these rights. They explained how an

ordinary person can use these rights to protect and defend themselves in different

situations in a democracy. In the end, they also referred to how the scope of rights has been

expanding.

INNOVATIVE CLASSES:

SOCIAL STUDIES

Students of Grade VIII had a

presentation on “Seven Older

Cities of Delhi” which developed

around the fortresses of each

dynasty that ruled Delhi from

1100 AD through 1947 AD. The

presentations were well planned

and confidently presented by the

students. Each member of the

group had a significant role in the

presentation.

INNOVATIVE CLASS:

FRENCH Students of grade VII and VIII learnt French through the mode

of skit presentations. They learnt about the food and culture of

the French by sharing the cuisine of France. They enjoyed it

thoroughly and gained proficiency in the language.

ART AND CRAFT ACTIVITY

Students at DPS, SEC-84 expressed their artistic caliber

through various art and craft activities during their art

classes.

RESULT OF SOF NATIONAL CYBER OLYMPIAD-2019-20

FIELD TRIPS Field trips give students educational experiences away from their regular school environment and provide alternative

educational opportunities. Keeping this in mind, a recreational trip was organized on 7th February 2020 for the students

of classes 1 and 2. They were taken to Sapphire Sector 83 Gurugram for a special screening of the popular children‟s

movie „Frozen 2‟. 14 teachers and nannies also accompanied them to ensure the welfare of the students. A wave of

excitement went through the students when they were taken to the theatre and a hush fell as soon as the movie screen lit up,

followed by a collective “Ooh.” The rustle of popcorn and conversation revived as the preview got underway and then settled once

more when “Frozen 2” started rolling. A lot of discussion and happy faces were seen after the movie got over. A follow up activity

was given as homework to the children where they had to draw their favourite character from the movie and write a few lines on it.

TECHNOPHILE:

Coding made simple and fun with Scratch.

To mark the Technology Day, we

provided our students with interesting

Scratch projects to explore beyond text

books. They used scratch blocks to create

games, music, stories and animations

using camera sensing. It really helped in

transforming their technology skills along

with promoting creativity, problem

solving and reasoning.

SPORTS: Students participated in an Inter school skating championship at Scottish

High School, Gurugram .Our students won six gold, two silver and three

bronze medals and added glory to the fame of DPS SEC-84. DPS SEC – 84

was placed third among the participating schools.
