Who said lsquoexamsrsquo Already Well yes ndash exam season 2013 isalready well upon us These last few weeks have seen IGCSEIB AP Matu and Bac students put through their paces in thewarm-up to the real thing with final exams for some starting atthe beginning of May less than two months away now

To the astute the mock examinations will be taken aslsquoassessment for learningrsquo opportunities and these students willuse the time between now and the final lsquoassessment oflearningrsquo to address any shortfalls and prepare fully for thechallenges that lie ahead We encourage all exam students totake this lead responding to the challenge and using the timeahead wisely with their parents surely encouraging themlikewise

National Honor Society

Starting in February the National Honor Society launched anew service project in which students volunteer at the EMSFondation du Midi in Nyon every week

Each Saturday afternoon NHS members take homemade cakesand spend tea time with the elderly Each student gets thechance to form a personal relationship with an elderly personby engaging in fascinating conversations about the life andtravels of their new companions Group discussions are heldwhich vary from topics such as education to cultural traditions

The residents have continuously expressed their gratitude forthis new project and have even shown their appreciation bysinging traditional Swiss songs for the volunteers The NationalHonor Society hopes to maintain this solid bond with theinstitution and is pleased to be bringing joy and positive changeto their local community
