Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.

Psalm 126:1-6 (New Revised Standard Version)
When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we rejoiced.
Restore our fortunes, O Lord,
like the watercourses in the Negeb.
May those who sow in tears
reap with shouts of joy.
Those who go out weeping,
bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
carrying their sheaves.
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suf-fered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
As you depart in peace, please love your neighbor by maintaining 6 feet separation and keeping your mask on. Thanks to those offering reflections today: Helen Imbrock, Aidan Kearns, and Bill Selvidge.

Blessing of the School Year Drive through event. Join us for our 2nd annual Drive Through Blessing of the School Year on Sunday, August 22 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Bring donations of school supplies for local schools or snack foods for OCIM. Also bring your backpack, briefcase, diaper bag—or just YOU to be given a blessing for the new year of school/work/daycare. Update: a special request has come from New Hope Elementary for water bottles, marbled composition books, plastic two-pocket folders, bookbags (strong enough to carry laptops), plastic pencil boxes and pencil sharpeners. These items are most needed but any donated supplies will be put to good use! We look forward to seeing you! School supply donations may still be made after Homecoming - just bring them to church in the next few weeks!
Hymns & Music in Live Worship Service. As we worship together indoors, we invite you to hum along with the hymns and music behind your mask. The choir members will sing the text and lead our music responses.
Video Volunteers Needed. Our YouTube worship services help a large number of people worship remotely. Volunteers are needed to help stream our Sunday morning worship services to YouTube. Training will be provided and time commitments are flexible. Please contact Randy Case at [email protected] or (919) 259-0807.
Congregational Reponses: the congregation is invited to respond to the prayers with
“Amen” and to the scripture reading with “Thanks be to God.”
