Features of the New GenYES Curriculum
DoThink
Student-Driven Modules: Learning by Doing
The new GenYES curriculum is wholly modular. The curriculum complements different schools’ technology integration needs. Each activity is comprised of three modules:
• Think - Contextualizes the learning outcomes and students’ thoughts on a given topic.
• Learn - Provides structure as students use internal and external resources to explore and learn about the subject.
• Do - Directs the student to complete a TAP related to the activity. Do includes example TAPs which students can complete or use for inspiration to create their own project.
Blended-Learning Model
GenYES programs have a wide variety of implementations, some of which make it hard to dedicate class time to teaching new skills. The new curriculum is designed with blended learning in mind. Now students will be able to learn new skills and be introduced to valuable resources on their own time. Blended Learning + GenYES equals more class time to do what matters — helping your school use technology more effectively!
New Assessment Support
The new GenYES curriculum includes better guidance for how to assess GenYES TAPs and activities.
• Google Drive Support• TAPs linked to curriculum• Alignment to ISTE Standards
A new Curriculum Guide with sample syllabi, timelines, and other resources will be available.
