The Nebraska Locksmith Association/NE Chapter of ALOA met for their July meeting at the Howard Johnson Riverside motel in Grand Island. The meeting was called to order by president Charles Ward. Those present received the membership certificates. New Business-Curt Fink from Doyle and Dave Fanning from Intermountain Lock were introduced. They were thanked for all that they do for our association. Meeting dates and classes were discussed. We need more ACE classes. The date for the meetings was discussed. It was decided that we will go back to the 3rd weekend of the month beginning in January of 2014. All those present thought that this might bring members back that we have lost. January will be in Lincoln at the New Victorian Inn and Suites. April will be in Grand Island-TBA July will be in Lincoln again at the New Victorian Inn and Suites October will be in Omaha at the Best Western Kelly Inn A motion was made by Gene Hansen and seconded by Curt Delano to do this, motion carried. Suggestions for classes were as follows: Motorcycle, IC core class, master keying, and access control. Bring other ideas to the October meeting, and if you have a chance talk to some instructors and see if they are interested in doing a class for us. It was announced that Elmer has the latest update of his safe DVD available for $98.00 Good of the order: a card was passed for Ken Stemig’s wife, George Huffacker on the loss of his wife and for Velma Dobish who has been moved to the rest home. It was announced that the garage sale this year was great.
Respectfully submitted, Sharon Gregory, Secretary
PRESIDENTS NOTES
We had a good meeting in Grand Island. We met in the bar area and several
vendors were present. There were several good door prizes handed out, so please
be sure to thanks the vendors when you are talking to them. Coming up we are
hoping to have some hands on classes, please think about what you would like for
classes. After we get some input we will try to get some good classes for the associ-
ation lined up. Also, if you know of any other locksmiths that are not members,
please encourage them to join the Nebraska Locksmith Assoc. The more members
that we have the better the association will become.
