LinkedIn

I previously did not have a LinkedIn profile so I had no status on the site.

After creating my account I hope to make many connections in various fields that can hopefully benefit me when I am ready to pursue my career.

From making the account I learned how important it is to understand as an individual the strengths and weaknesses you hold and what you have that will benefit a company.

I followed very closely to the 5 steps in order to build a successful profile.

LinkedIn

While following through the steps I found it kind of challenging to think of a headline and a background picture to describe myself, hopefully with more time and more experience I can think of some things that will represent me better.

I came to some stops while writing my summary and I am still working on it and hoping to add more and more as I continue to brand myself.

While connecting all my social media sites together I found many connections and connected with people who I thought would benefit me.

I also had some trouble figuring out what exactly to post, I searched through the site and found some companies I liked and articles that interested me and I shared them to my page hoping to give me some inspiration on my first post.

Facebook

I have had a Facebook account for quite some time but over the years I tend to only use it to keep in touch with family members.

With the added tips from Social Media Examiner I hope to be able to use my Facebook as a platform for jobs as wells as to keep connections with my family.

After reading a couple of articles from Social Media Examiner on Facebook I decided to give my profile some changes.

Page 6: My Social Identity

Facebook I changed my profile picture to

something more recent and more professional.

I added some of my education such as the college I attend and the high school I graduated from.

I also added more information about my current job and my duties as well.

I went through some of my interests and updated them so they were more fitting to me currently because some things have changed over the years.

With some work and overtime I think I can get my page to be where it should be in order to help me find a job one day

Twitter

I use to be very active on Twitter, but now I find that I use the site to keep up to date with what's currently happening rather than posting my own tweets.

I read a couple of articles on the social media examiner which gave me tips to make my profile more professional.

I hope with the help of the tips I could use Twitter for more than just a site to read tweets, but something to help me in my professional career.

Twitter

One of the first things I did was change my profile picture to the same picture I have on all my other accounts.

I went through some of the things I retweeted, tweeted, and liked throughout the years and deleted some things that I did not think were necessary to have anymore.

Hopefully with more time I can find people to follow that I have common interests with pertaining to my future career.
