This consulting exercise involves working with the Managing Director and Executive

Management Team in Re-designing the entire Organization to transform their Business

from trading to Design, Manufacturing, supply, installation and Servicing of Medical

Devices. The Organization structure was redesigned at the leadership level and inducted

key leaders for various positions to create sustenance and growth over the next 10 years.

When the Organization was in “CATCH-22” situation with about 23 Crores revenue,

took up a CXO role for managing multiple functions including the Chief Technology

Officer Role, PAN India Service Operations (The work force in service is more than 60% of

the organizational Human Resources Team), Quality and Reliability Engineering, Design

and Development, Compliance Management, Regulatory Affairs, Information technology

and Manufacturing. I was involved in the complete transformation of the organization and

it’s growth from 23 Crores to 130 Crores in 4 Years period.

A multi-tiered Management Review System was designed, executed and sustained over a

period of 4 years and transferred to the next level Leadership Team. This includes

Leadership Level Annual Revenue Goals Setting, Monthly Managers Business Review

(To review and facilitate accomplishing the Annual Revenue Goals), Quarterly support

systems Review and Half Yearly Mid-term Revenue Goals Review and coarse correction.

This has transformed the culture more towards Data Based Decision Making. The annual

Leadership Meet was personally driven with lots of passion and commitment that facilitated

in setting the annual Revenue Goals through a consensus approach. This cultural

transformation was one of the very important change agent for the organization to

.achieve 3X revenue.

In the times of turbulence when there was a Top management change over in 2013,

invoked by Investors and Board, the toughest task of managing the service function was

taken over. This is a direct customer facing function and responsible for handling all the

Regions, Product Technology Managers and Service Operations. Managed the complete

service operations that had 750 clients base and close to 90 resources spread across

22 locations in India. Reengineered the complete service operations and implemented

customer focused systems and operational metrics. Increased the Service revenue from

6.5 Crores to 15 Crores in just 2 years. I have implemented 4Dx (4 Disciplines of Execution)

as a methodology for increasing the Service Revenue by two folds. Trained about 80 Sales

and Service Managers on the 4Dx methodology. Set up very strong Regional Service

Managers Team and increased the productivity of Service Engineers from 45% to 80%.

Independently opened up the service revenue in Middle East (the first of its kind in the

existence of Cura) and signed a contract for 7 Million USD. Ensured the Gross Margin was

consistent at 65% over two years. I was directly involved in establishing Technology Tie-up

with an American company (Oxford Instruments) for Service capability enhancement.

Setup Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Reliability Engineering and Regulatory

compliance as functions for Cura and it’s Group companies. Established a very strong

foundation in designing Business process documentation to set Global benchmarking

and to meet up with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (Medical Devices Quality

Management System), COCIR An European Standard for best practices in Refurbishment,

CE and FDA standards. Designed and implemented a software solution, named as

“ The COMPASS” to manage compliance requirements for all the group companies of CURA.

The external Audits have appreciated and marked this as a Benchmarking performance in

the Medical Devices Industry and did not exist in more than 350 medical devices

companies audited. Visual Shop Floor was designed and executed in all the manufacturing

plants. Recruited and groomed a team of 5 Managers for managing the corporate Quality.

Established a culture of data based decision-making and introduced measures of

performance across the organization. Trained over 100 resources on the philosophy of

improvements through project based approach and in particular formed 30 Quality

Circles. Institutionalized the concept of Six Sigma and trained over 100 resources on the

structured improvement projects using DMAIC Methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze,

Improve and Control).Mentored more than 15 Teams who were responsible for delivering

20 Six Sigma projects and won Gold Medal Awards in competitions conducted by QCFI

(Quality Council Forum Of India). Designed Policies and process documents on the

selection and execution of improvement projects. DMAIC was integrated as an integral

part of Quality Management System. Some of the improvement projects that have

won Excellence Awards and Gold Medal Awards are:

1. Service Revenue Maximization in AP and Karnataka.

2. Service Engineer’s Productivity Improvement

3. Increasing the Gross Margin for spare selling

4. Decreasing the TAT (Turn Around Time) for Sourcing of Equipments

5. Elimination of non-value adds in XRAY Tube Repairing and removing the human

dependency in Oil filing process.

Designed and executed the Data Center and networking architecture from green field to

cater to the requirements of 5 companies. Scientifically evaluated the need of ERP system

and recommended a combination of onsite and on the cloud Technology Platform.

Through strategic and diplomatic negotiation process, saved close to 1.2 Crores of ERP

investment. The Data Centre was designed with high end Back bone for layered security

architecture, automated back-up’s, recovery plans and Business Continuity Plans.

a wider cross section of industries such as Health Care, Manufacturing, Networking,

BPO, KPO, Software Development, Software Testing, IT Networking, SAP and

Consulting. His positions include Chief Technology Officer for Cura Health Care Pvt

Ltd, (A Medical Devices Design and Manufacturing company), Chief Executive Officer

at Cherrytec Intelisolve Ltd., ( An IT Solutions provider in India and Middle East), Chief

Information Security Officer and Head of Process and Compliance Governance at

Thinksoft Global Services Ltd, (a Software Testing Organization for Banking and

Financial Services), Chief Technology Officer for Apcom Group of companies

(Networking, BPO and KPO) and Strategic Business Unit Head with TVS Group of

companies (Managed the Manufacturing unit for defence segment - P&L

Responsibility).

He has been a consultant to numerous leading corporate's and serves as expert

member in corporate and industrial advisory boards. Besides his exuberant corporate

stint, he has been serving as honorary member in various international journal

editorial boards and governing boards of reputed social organizations and

contributed enormously for their growth.

His Research Paper on “Revenue Maximization using 4Disciplines of Execution” was

published in the Australian Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences. His research paper

on “Statistical Analysis on Field Service Engineer’s productivity in Medical Devices

Industries” was published in Asian Journal of Research in Social Sciences and

Humanities. He is the Chief Adviser, Distinguished Professor and Honorary Dean

(Training and Development) at the renowned National Foundation for

Entrepreneurship Development (NFED), since Jan ‘2015. His innovative Software

Solution, named as ‘COMPASS” - The Compliance Management Solution, has won

several awards that includes Excellence and Gold Medal awards from QCFI,

Innovation Award from NFED and accolades from Indian Institute of Science,

Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He has been conferred with the prestigious Karma Veer

Chakra award on 21st March 2015 by the reputed Indian Confederation of Non-

Governmental Organization (iCONGO), New Delhi for his significant contribution in

interfacing corporate-societal development activities and supporting right every

wrong movement through upbringing righteous entrepreneurs, mentoring students

and creating an enterprising cult for balancing the society. In addition to that he has

been endorsed with the coveted Outstanding Technologist and Researcher Award by

the National Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development in its 6th Teachers’ Day

Awards ‘2015 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
