2. Pop Music There is a variety of forms of Pop magazines. The recent popular one are Top of the Pops, which provides latest news of Pop songs, singers, etc. Smash hits, which is an old one, has information mainly on singers and songs of previous time. 3. Pop magazines mainly aim at teenagers, hence their front covers usually have a bright background colour (pink, white, blue, etc) and an impressive image of a Pop singer. 4. Rock Like Pop, there are many different Rock magazines. Classic Rock, which is a monthly magazine first published in 1998, is now still popular; Kerrang! is a weekly British Rock magazine which was first published in 1981, became the best-selling British newspaper in the 2000s. 5. The models on Rock magazines are also Rock singers, but the background colour of Rock magazines is darker and simpler, as a way to reflect this genre's characteristic. 6. Classical Classic is not an easy listening type of music. This genre is listened by a certain group of people due to their preference, hobbies and ages. Classical music mainly attracts people at older generation. Hence, there are not too many magazines for this genre. Some popular are Music and Classical Music. 7. The colours used on Classical magazines' front covers are very subtle. They are usually black and white. Like other magazines' genres, Classical magazines have images of Classical artists, normally with their instruments. 8. Conclusion The types of music magazines differ in colours and styles (models style). While Pop magazines have bright colours, Rock and Classical magazines normally use simple colours like black and white. Models on Pop magazines front cover are Pop singers with sweet and smiley images (sometimes sexy), whereas images on Rock magazines usually inspire dark, cold and crazy.
