It was a particularly cold October night in the Bay Area, and I could feel my engines running wild beneath the hood. We don’t usually get this sort of weather out here, and I could tell that my passengers regretted not bringing an extra sweater on their way to work. A full moon looked down on us and I felt sorry for the people walking down the streets, I wished I could pick them all up for a few blocks or so, let them relax for a while, but it couldn’t be done. As I stopped on Geary this little bald fella came aboard, and it smelled like ten bags of coffee beans had just walked in. Before you knew it he was handing out these blue cups, letting everybody on the bus have a taste out of his thermos. How about that? Guys like that makes even the coldest nights worthwhile, don’t you think? I turned the heat up and carried on into the dark night. I’ve been around for a long time and experienced both the good and bad of living in the unusual city of San Francisco. No matter who you are, you’re welcome aboard on my infinite travel across this ever-changing city. Welcome aboard. I am , the mobile living room of San Francisco.

It was a particularly cold October night in the Bay Area, and I could feel my engines running wild beneath the hood. We don’t usually get this sort of weather out here, and I could tell that my passengers regretted not bringing an extra sweater on their way to work. I could see her running across the street, struggling with bags and what not. She almost got stuck as my doors closed behind her. Honestly I felt a little stressed since I knew there were people waiting along the way, and I already have some trouble keeping up these days. But I didn’t have the heart to leave her behind. She sat down on a seat to the right and she smelled a little of sweat from the run, as she was trying to catch her breath. A guy sitting with his lap full of Chinese take-out couldn't help but smile at her

little stunt, and when their eyes met she blushed a second before smiling back at him. I smiled to, and dimmed the lights. It’s all about the mood you know.

I let the gas go, and rolled slowly down California Street. Our journey continued.

I speeded up the steep slope that is Pacific Heights and when I reached the tipping point at Divisadero and Broadway an old lady spilled her ice-tea all over her seat in the back row. As we collectively made the transition from uphill to downhill the sticky beverage slowly poured down the aisle and made the entire bus smell of sweet peach candy which was suitable, since we could now watch the sunset paint the Californian hills pink outside the frame of my windows, just for a moment

before disappearing behind its Pacific Ocean curtain. Suddenly the mess didn’t feel so messy anymore, because sweet peach candy or not it was a beautiful afternoon.

I blinked twice and made a stop. Our journey continued.
