ELECTRIC MOTORS The electromagnet in the magnetic field a galvanometer cannot rotate than half a turn. But suppose you could make it rotate continuously. Instead of moving a pointer, the electromagnet could turn a rod, or axle. The axle could then turn something else, such as the blades of fan or a blender. Such a device would be what is called an electric motor. Electric motor is a device that uses an electric current to turn an axle. An electric motor transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy. PROJECT Objetive: Convert the current in moving. MATERIALS: Wooden Base. Two angles. Copper wire # 23 A holder A switch Magnets. Spare pen Silicon and tin. PROCEDURE: With copper wire do one spiraling of 20 laps, having like axis pen spare. Set the angles, connect the battery and switch. Place the magnet on the wooden base. Place the spiral on the angles. OPERATION: To start the engine running, this need a little momentum and so will begin to spin. The spiral to turn in your magnetic field, the position of the poles of the electromagnet will vary each half turn, sense of rotation change your also. To overcome this difficulty , you must change the direction of the current every time you change the relative position of the electromagnet
