With 57,000 employees worldwide, it is quite an accomplishment to be recognized as one of the top 100. I was honored to be the guest of our own Sharon Burnette, who was recognized for the second year in a row! Way to go Sharon! I am proud of you! We are familiar with Sharons servant ministry among us at Morris Chapel. As the leader of our Gifts of Grace Christmas mission to our neighbors, Sharon works year round to gather and organize donations. We are currently in the intensive time of interviewing our neighbors who have requested assistance. Sharon leads an army of servant volunteer ministers and continually seeking ways to improve our faithfulness and fruitfulness with the best stewardship of resources possible. Additionally, Sharon is a part of our Building Jamaica Mission Team and many other things that go unknown. For her many hours of community service, VF Corporation awarded Sharon with a $1,000 donation to her charityin her honor. Sharon will split the money between Gifts of Grace and Building Jamaica. During this recognition banquet, the twelve VF employees from the Greensboro area shared about their volunteer work. While there were some great community agencies being assisted, the vast majority of the volunteer hours went to peoples local churches. I enjoyed hearing the good news about mission trips, feeding the homeless, and providing school supplies to disadvantaged students. I rejoiced for Gods kingdom. Does your employer encourage you to volunteer in the community? Do they give you paid time off to volunteer? Do they recognize their top volunteers with a monetary donation like VF Corporation does? Some companies also will match monetary donations to a non-profit up to a certain amount. Does your match donations? Most likely Morris Chapel qualifies and you can double part of your financial contribution to the ministry of Morris Chapel. We never know from where assistance in spreading the Gospel may come. Praise the Lord! The arrival of the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven does not solely depend upon us. God uses multiple people and communities of faith to grow his kingdom on earth. Last week I was privileged to attend a recognition and award banquet at VF Corporation in Greensboro. My Morris Chapel Church Family,

Thanks so much for your love, concern, and many acts of

kindness during my surgery and recovery. I am especially

grateful for the prayers lifted on my behalf. I’m doing well.

I’m truly blessed. Glad to be back at church and see your

smiling faces as you welcome me back.

Love and Gratitude,

Jean Carpenter

Welcome to the Morris Chapel Family

On Sunday, November 16, 2014, a beautiful 3½ month old baby girl was baptized into God’s church. Briana Marie Bemis was baptized by sprinkling in the Crossroads Worship Experience. She is the daughter of Josh & Lanie and her big sisters are Gabby & Lyla. Please remember your covenant to surround Briana and her family as a community of love and forgiveness, while you pray that they grow into faithful disciples.

We are blessed that the Lord is adding to our number. Please continue to invite friends, relatives, acquaintances, and neighbors to experience the joy and goodness of God through Morris Chapel. Anyone interested in joining the membership of Morris Chapel is invited to speak with Pastor Dan.

Nursing students from Walkertown High School will

be at the church on

Tuesday November 18th

to perform blood pressure checks.

We encourage members to come out and support our local high school students

by participating in this health initiative.

Students will be onsite from 9:00am until Noon.

The Farm at The Children's Home is periodically in need of assistance with routine agricultural tasks. This might be in the form of picking strawberries in the summer, planting tomatoes in the spring, or planting crops in the fall. Some tasks require a degree of agricultural experience but many do not. We are building a database of possible volunteers to whom we can periodically email a request for help when we have a need. Please email [email protected] with your name, email address and contact information if you are willing to join our Farm volunteer list. The Farm at The Children’s Home is making progress toward its goal of being a self-sustaining agricultural operation whose surplus income directly supports the children we serve.

◊ The Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, November 19th at 10:00am in Room #39. This will be a covered dish luncheon. The guest speaker will be Rev. David Smith.

◊ The Kitchen Committee will NOT meet in December. The next meeting will be January 14, 2015 in Room #39.

◊ The U.M.W. Wesley Circle’s Christmas Social will be on Tuesday, December 2nd. We will leave the church at 11:00am.
