About University

The Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture& Technology, Kanpur a premier institution of the nation serving since 1893, was established on March 1975. At present, there are eight college in university viz, college of agriculture, college of forestry, college of horticulture and college of home science at Kanpur, College of engineering and Technology, college of sheries & Research centre and college of dairy technology at Etawa. A second college of agriculture is also established at Lakhimpur kheri. The University has excellent facilities in terms of well-equipped library, Research station, Computer Centre, Laboratories, Auditorium, Hostels, Agriculture Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU) Agriculture Information Bureau, Agriculture Technology Information Centre (ATIC), Centre Instrumentation Laboratory, Bio-control Laboratory, Pesticide residue laboratory, Soil Testing Laboratory, Seed testing laboratory, Mushroom laboratory besides other departmental laboratory. So many Projects have run in the University viz CAAST-NC. The University has a long history of signicant research contributions made by the well established faculties, research sections, regional stations and research farms and developed more than 275 high yielding varieties in cereals, oilseeds, pulses, vegetables and

About the Moringa

According to WHO Malnutrition refers to deciencies, excesses or imbalances in a person's intake of energy and/or nutrient Malnutrition is a common, under-recognised and undertreated problem facing patients and clinicians. It is both a cause and consequence of disease and exists in institutional care and the community. Moringa, a native plant from Africa and Asia, and the most widely cultivated species in North-western India, is the sole genus in the family Moringaceae. The leaves of Moringa are mostly used for medicinal purposes as well as for human nutrition, since they are rich in antioxidants and other nutrients, which are commonly decient in people living in undeveloped countries. Moringa play enthusiastic role to eradicate in malnutrition. Moringa value added products have put nutritive value with high acceptability. Moringa products took so many trial to manage, taste appearance and health, the main challenge is to get right products with no compromise with nutritive value. These products have effective to address the micro nutrients deciency. In this direction many researches on Moringa fortied products initiated in the department since last few years. In this continuation different Moringa value added products viz Moringa Pasta, Moringa Biscuits, and Moringa extruded products developed under the minor research programme.

The Moringa Food Conclave 2021 is held in India aimed at helping Moringa developers around the world to understand the Moringa crop and add value added products, medicinal value, their business and future potentials. The conclave will focus on the practical considerations of production, management and fortied products. The Moringa Conclave will be led by world class expert and scientists, who have extensive practical experience. Moringa conclave in exploring best production practices, best horticultural practices, best harvesting practices and best value addition, and is must attend for all stakeholders to know the latest research and development activities and to reap the fullest potential of Moringa.
