MORAL VALUES
THE REASON FOR CHOOSING MORAL VALUES
T
he reason we choose this
topic because to make people
aware of their do’s and dont’s.
WHAT ARE MORAL VALUES?
M
oral values are the standards of good and evil, which govern an
individual’s behaviour and choices. Individual’s morals may
derive from society and government, religion, or self. When
moral values derive from society and government they, of
necessity, may change as the laws and morals of the society
change. An example of the impact of changing laws on moral
values may be seen in the case of marriage vs. “living together.”
WHAT ARE MORAL VALUES
"
Moral" values are flexible
depending on the culture a person
is raised in. It usually refers to what
is right or wrong.
MORAL VALUE
A
t the general level, there is a difference between moral and
natural goods. Moral goods are those that have to do with
the conduct of persons, usually leading to praise or blame.
Natural goods, on the other hand, have to do with objects,
not persons. For example, to say that "Mary is a morally good
person" might involve a different sense of "good" than the
one used in the sentence "Wow, that was some good food".
YOU AND YOUR MORAL COMPASS
A
useful way to think about your “moral compass” is to think
of it like an ordinary compass with true North
representingIntegrity, South - Forgiveness, East -
Compassion, and West -Responsibility..
These four universal principles are honored in some form
by people of all races and religions, regardless of gender.
