PECANS
This is the major source of income for the Montgomery County 4-H program. These funds go directly back to you in the form of educational programs, registration fees, and equipment and curriculum.
THE MORE YOU SALE, THE MORE YOU HAVE!!
At this point you should have your fundraiser packet and be selling pecans. September - October is your time to sale pecans. ALL orders will be due back to your club’s pecan leader at your October monthly club meeting unless your pecan leader has specified an alternate date/time.
**NO orders are to be turned directly in to the 4-H office. ALL orders must be given to the club’s pecan leader!!
We hope that your 4-H year has gotten off to a good start.
At this point every club has hosted their September club meeting, the 1st official club meeting of the 2021-2022 4-H year.
We know lots of questions come up throughout the year regarding general 4-H info., project information, etc. We hope that you are taking advantage of the 101 meetings
that are on the calendar.
4-H is full of information and it can get confusing, whether you do or don’t know exactly what to ask.
Here are some FAQ’s that may help:
What is a county club?
This is your group that you join and attend monthly 4-H information meetings with. You can join any club located in the county.
How do I choose a project?
Members can participate in any 4-H project with any club. The club does not have to already have participation in the specific project. Sometimes all it takes is 1 interested person to spark the interest of others.
How many projects can I do?
Members are required to participate in at least 1 project, but there is no maximum number of projects they can do.
What if I don’t like a project?
That’s Ok! Find another project that interests you and give it a chance.
Most importantly, have FUN in 4-H!!!
4-H Families
In case you didn’t know or just need a reminder:
ALL of our club managers and assistant managers are volunteers.
They volunteer their personal time to help the 4-H program. Without
our volunteers, our program would not be what it is.
Take a moment to say “thank you” or offer a lending
hand when you can!

1 DAY 4-H
One Day 4-H is one day for all of the members, parents, leaders, & volunteers to step out into their commu-nities and say “thank you” by giving back to them for over 105 years of support of 4-H in Texas. This day of community service is whatever each 4-H member, club, or county program decides to make it.
How to Participate
• 4-H members and their clubs/county programs should start now on identifying and planning a communi-ty service project.
• Advertise/market your project to locate media and others in the community so they will know the differ-ence you, and 4-H, is making.
• Sign your project up at the one day 4-H website
• Conduct your project and then report your successes at the one day 4-H website.
It’s your time to SHINE!! This is the time when 4-H’ers across the nation
work extra hard to showcase what they have gained from their membership in 4-H. Two
events that take place during National 4-H week are: National Youth Science Day &
One-Day 4-H.
4-H’ers are encouraged to *wear a 4-H t-shirt to school
