SIMON AND SCHUSTER A CBS COMPANY MONSTERS AND ALIENS DAY To help you organise a successful Monsters and Aliens day we’ve created a set of activities, sticker sheets and ideas for decorating your venue. Here are our top tips for a roaringly successful event . 1. ADVERTISE Use the A4 poster to advertise your event well in advance. You could tell the local schools, playgroups and coffee shops that the event is happening and let your local newspaper know too. 2. DECORATE Copy or print out the bunting sheets. Staple or string them together to produce lines of Monsters and Aliens bunting to decorate your event area. print out or copy the signs of monster words to use in your event area. 3. FANCY DRESS Encourage kids to come to the event in monster or alien fancy dress. You could even offer a prize for the best costume. those unable to come in fancy dress can colour in the Monstersaurus masks to wear at the event . 4. MONSTER VS ALIEN Ask kids whether they are TEAM MONSTER or TEAM ALIEN. what noises should each team make? 5. PERFORMANCE TIME Using one of the books, get the kids to read the story with you. You could get the audience to act out the stories, casting kids as monsters and aliens and getting them to play their parts as you read the story aloud.
