MOCK EXAMS 2015
DAY TO DAY MATTERS
There will be a new timetable in operation for the duration of the mock exams
The day will be split as follows
Class 1: 9:00 – 9:35 Class 2: 9:35 – 10:10 Class 3 10:10 – 10:45 Class 4:10:45 – 11:20 Class 5:11:20 – 11:55 LUNCH: 11:55 – 12:40 Class 6: 12:40 – 1:15 Class 7: 1:15 – 1:50 Class 8: 1:50 - 2:25 BREAK: 2:25 – 2:40 Class 9: 2:40 – 3:10 Class 10: 3:10 – 3:50
There may be some rooms out of commission, for the duration of the mocks, to facilitate the removal of tables and chairs into the gym. Please check the daily timetable on the board for these.
Friday will operate as normal.
The exams will finish at 11:50 and 3:45 respectively allowing 5 minutes to collect all papers.
EXAM RULES
Copies of the exam rules have been distributed to all students. (Please familiarise yourself with Exam Rules)
LUNCH = 11:55 a.m. to 12.40 p.m. Monday to Thursday
No eating allowed in centre.
No borrowing of equipment.
Students supply their own equipment and use School Answer Booklets provided
Students may use their own paper provided it is checked and stamped by a supervising teacher prior to their exam.
No communication with others permitted during examinations
Any student who is disrupting a particular exam may be removed immediately and may have to be sent home to complete their exams.
Study is permitted only when a student has no timetabled exams
All bags are to be left at the top of the Examination Centre
All Students must arrive on time for exams
You will remain in centre until exam is over
Students are permitted to leave the school after an exam provided they have a note in their journal.
Students who don’t have an exam in the morning but do have one in the afternoon must sign in at the office when they arrive at the school. They must also have a note in their journal to explain their lateness.
Full school uniform must be worn during exams
All other School Rules apply for the duration of Mock Exams
DISTRIBUTION OF EXAM PAPERS
All Exam Papers will be left in the office. They will be clearly marked according to the Day, Time and Year Group. The teachers’ names that are highlighted on the supervision timetable will be responsible for collecting them and bringing them to the centre prior to the start of every exam.
Exam Booklets must be distributed in the Exam Centre by the supervising Teachers.
Students may use their own paper for an exam. This must be checked by a supervising teacher and stamped with a school stamp.
It is important that Booklets are not left lying about in exam centre. This will avoid instances where students may take them away from the centres.
Completed exams must be collected by supervising teachers and left in the staffroom.
Exam Stationary such as Graph Paper and Business Booklets are also available in the Staffroom
DISTRIBUTION OF LOG BOOKS
Please distribute you own sets of Log Tables if needed for your exam. Please contact the Mathematics Department if necessary
TEE SQUARES / DRAWING BOARDS / ART EQUIPMENT
Some exams require specialised equipment, especially for Technical Graphics, DCG (Design & Communication Graphics), Construction Studies, Engineering, Metalwork and Woodwork.
All this equipment will be in the centre prior to these exams. Supervising teachers are to give
these students 5 minutes at the start of their exam to get organised and 5 minutes at the end of the exam to put back all their equipment.
AURAL EXAMS
All Aural exams to take place (if possible) in own class time on the days prior to the commencement of the mocks.
This arrangement will be up to each individual teacher concerned.
Mr Cannon will facilitate the handing out of the appropriate CD’s and exam papers
MUSIC EXAMS
The Music Exam at Junior Cert is an audio based exam. One of the Music Exams at Leaving Cert is also an audio based exam. The students taking this exam will be accommodated in an alternative centre. Please check the Supervision roster as you may be supervising this exam. Room 21 will be the venue for this Exam.
LUNCH TIME ARRANGEMENTS
Lunch for all students will be from 12.00 – 12.45pm for the duration of the exams.
Break for all non exam students will be from 2:30 – 2:45. Exam students will be working right through so teachers need to be mindful that they may be timetabled to supervise the break in the exam centre.
Due to the change in timetable, class period 5 will be from 11:20 to 12:00pm Monday to Thursday and class period 9 will be from 2:45 to 3:15.
SEATING PLAN
The majority of 3rd and 6th year students will be sitting their mock exams in the gym.
They will be assigned a seat according to their class group and the class register.
They will remain in this seat for the duration of the exam. The class groupings will be clearly labelled across the top wall of the gym.
Where possible students will be sitting in alternate rows for 3rd and 6th year.
For some exams it may be necessary to move some students to prevent copying, give more space etc. This will be at the discression of the supervising teachers.
ATTENDANCE REGISTER
Please call the attendance registers in the usual manner at 8.55 a.m.
Any student sitting an exam in a different centre must come to the gym for registration first before going to their assigned centre.
SUPERVISION ARRANGEMENTS FOR SPECIAL CENTRES
There will be 2 Special Centres for the duration of the Exams: Room 1 and the ASD unit
Supervision arrangements for the special centres will be arranged by Ms O Donoghue and Mr Fagan. A copy of which will be included in the supervision timetable.
A list of all students who will be sitting their mocks in room 1 will be made available
Toilet Register
Please fill out details of student’s that are let out for a Toilet Break
A maximum of Only 1 Toilet Break allowed per person per exam.
