DATA SHEET MITEL LINE INTERFACE MODULE PROVIDES TELEWORKERS WITH LOCAL EMERGENCY ACCESS The Mitel ® Line Interface Module ensures mission-critical enterprises always have voice communications. It also enables remote workers to have localized calling and emergency services as well as failover capability in the event of a network failure. MITEL TELEWORKER SOLUTION ENHANCEMENT Line Interface Module is a discreet component that plugs into the back of your Mitel 5324, 5330, 5330e, 5340, 5340e, or 5360 IP Phones for local access, emergency dialing and guaranteed survivability. With it, voice communication automatically and transparently defaults to a public switched telephone network (PSTN) analog line if IP service is disrupted, allowing users to continue to make and receive calls. It works as a convenient solution that enables remote workers and teleworkers to have local calling capability and access to local emergency services. If something should happen to the network, DSL services or even the local router, teleworkers still have uninterrupted access to voice communications. Line Interface Module is, in essence, a low-cost disaster recovery solution for converged, mission-critical environments of any kind. KEY FEATURES · User selection of either local area network (LAN) or PSTN from a single desktop device · Emergency call ability to local emergency services when used in remote / teleworker locations · Privacy mode option in shared analog line scenarios · Phone automatically connects to PSTN upon a LAN failure · Allows IP phones to connect to an analog trunk to allow users to make and receive calls · User selectable: will allow a user to select a PSTN line to make and receive phone calls on an analog line without disconnecting from the IP connection · In failover mode the IP phone will automatically switch to analog mode · Installs into the module compartment of a 5324, 5330, 5330e, 5340, 5340e, or 5360 IP Phone · Analog mode supports basic phone operation, handset and dial pad functionality KEY BENEFITS · Reduced long distance charges for remote teleworkers · Survivability at the edge of the network · Extends Mitel’s resiliency strategy from the core of the network to the user desktop · Ensures business continuity in the event of a network disruption · Flexibility of Mitel IP phones enables modules to be easily installed and configured · Teleworker support enables teleworkers to have one device for both corporate and local access POWER CONFIGURATION Line Interface Module supports Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) or 48 V DC Ethernet power adapter (purchased separately) for the 5324, 5330, 5330e, 5340, 5340e, and 5360 IP Phones, which is recommended for teleworker or remote use.

KEY FEATURES· User selection of either local area network (LAN) or PSTN

from a single desktop device· Emergency call ability to local emergency services when

used in remote / teleworker locations· Privacy mode option in shared analog line scenarios· Phone automatically connects to PSTN upon a LAN failure· Allows IP phones to connect to an analog trunk to allow users

to make and receive calls· User selectable: will allow a user to select a PSTN line to make

and receive phone calls on an analog line without disconnecting from the IP connection

· In failover mode the IP phone will automatically switch to analog mode

· Installs into the module compartment of a 5324, 5330, 5330e, 5340, 5340e, or 5360 IP Phone

· Analog mode supports basic phone operation, handset and dial pad functionality

KEY BENEFITS· Reduced long distance charges for remote teleworkers· Survivability at the edge of the network· Extends Mitel’s resiliency strategy from the core of the network

to the user desktop· Ensures business continuity in the event of a network disruption· Flexibility of Mitel IP phones enables modules to be easily installed

and confi gured· Teleworker support enables teleworkers to have one device for

both corporate and local access
