Web Based Tool- Gmail
Gmail Key Features
Authentication icon for verified senders
This is a smart way to defend yourself against phishing
attacks. When enabled, this feature will display a special Key
icon next to emails from websites such as eBay, Amazon
and PayPal that phishers often try to use to obtain users’
passwords and credit card information. If you don’t see the
Key icon from an email purportedly from eBay, then it’s not
actually from eBay and is likely a scam.
Google Calendar gadget
As you might expect, enabling this option creates a box on
the left-hand column of Gmail that displays your Google
Calendar information. This is an essential feature for people
who use Gmail professionally.
Mark as Read Button
For people who want to have messages un-highlighted in
their inboxes without either reading them or deleting them,
the Mark as Read Button is there to make your wish come
true.
Preview Pane
This is a clever feature that’s ripped right from Microsoft’s
classic Outlook format that lets you read previews of emails
while at the same time keeping all your email
conversations in view. This means you can get the gist of an
email without having to fully open it and without having to
block out all your other messages from view.
Linkedin Account
Linkedin features
. Let others recommend and endorse you for your skills and past work.
Get some social proof for your skills and talents. When others
recommend or endorse you, anyone who sees your profile can see these and it shows you have other experts backing up your claims to
have certain skills. This is very powerful in making connections.
. Access to experts in other areas, when you have a question, it’s best to
find experts in that industry and ask. They helps with consultations and
second opinions as well. In groups you can easily find the best experts
to consult with.
. Extensive network to connect with. Being part of a group gives you
access to 3rd party connections who you wouldn’t otherwise have the
option to connect with. Under the members section of each group you
can look at the member list to see who else is there, what they do, and
how to connect it them. This is much like a backdoor access.
. Groups: LinkedIn features hundreds of groups with members joining up to 50 groups related to industry, location, keywords, and content. Join
a few key groups, to allow development of content and connections
with regular monitoring.
