Sahiban, teary eyed, yet breaking Mirza's arrows. In modern times, the lovers run away from Sahiban's home

on the night of her wedding to another boy. While the modern love story of Adil and Suchi is set in

Rajasthan, the epic love story is seen in Ladakh.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's film Mirzya an intriguing plot of a triangle love story.

When the focus shifts from one era to another it reminds us that despite the passage of time, even today lovers do

•Harshvardhan hails from a poor background. The actor will be seen as a stable boy, who takes care of the horses. Thus, his look is crafted keeping cow boys in mind. “I designed his look on the lines of James Dean (American actor).• His appearance is very grungy with all the bundies, denims, even denim bandies for that matter. •He is from the labour class and to suit that we even aged his clothes,” elaborates Lipakshi.11 pair of ‘laung’ for Harshvardhan

Hailing from a Rajput family, Harshvardhan will be seen sporting an accessory worn by the guys of Rajasthan. “It’s an ear piece called the laung. We crafted one using gold and ruby and looks really pretty in his ears. We made 11 pairs replicating the original such that we have lots of pieces in spare if in case they get lost during the shooting,” mentions Lipakshi.

• Apart from the Harshvardhan and Saiyami’s contemporary scenes, it is the folklore sequences which

are getting a lot of attention.

• From romance, the film transcends into action and it is learnt there are many teams which battle against each

other. “Mirza’s (Harshvardhan) tribe is called Mithra, while Sahiba’s (Saiyami’s) is called Hidush. Both the tribes have

been distinguished by their costume’s colours. While Mithra is blue, Hidush is red. Likewise there are many

other tribes like Giza, Jangwa, Torgo and Sumer flaunting different colours

• The tribes are also distinguished by peculiar flags and also tattoos which are on the horses of these tribes.

• In terms of Mirza’s costumes, a lot of natural fibers like leather and jute has been used. “The armour that he wears too is made out of leather. Even Saiyami, the

blouse which she wears is pure leather. And the accessories she wears is made up of threads, ropes and

feathers,” elaborates Niharika.
