theoretical knowledge is amalga-
mated with its plant level actual
implementation and that is
achieved through industrial visits.
I am confident that as IPEC ECE
continues in its strategic direction
as a field leader, even bigger suc-
cess will be realized in every com-
ing day. I thank all our alumni,
friends and industry partners who
provide the support that is essen-
tial to our efforts for excellence in
education and research, and as
always, do feel free to contact me
at [email protected] with
your ideas and feedback.
Dr. V.K. Gupta Professor and Chair
I am overwhelmed to yet
again present a new issue of
our ECE departmental news-
letter COMMUNIQUE, which
covers all our departmental
accomplishments, events,
achievements, headline news
and new milestones our de-
partment has so far.
Our department is fully
equipped with all the labs
mandatory for the curriculum
and industrial demands. The
prominent asset of our de-
partment is the intellectual
capital which comprises of
highly motivated, technically
skilled and well qualified fac-
ulty members. Our association
with industries have grown
stronger with every passing
time and this has facilitated

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON “INTERNET
OF THINGS AND IT’S APPLICATIONS”
EICT, IIT Kanpur in collaboration with Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and Electron-
ics and Communication Department, IPEC Ghaziabad has completed faculty development pro-
gram on IOT and It’s Applications starting from 10th December 2019. The internship program
was successfully completed on 14th December, 2019.
In the Faculty Development program total 44 faculties have participated from various institutes
like IIT Delhi, IMS Ghaziabad and Galgotias University. During this Faculty Development pro-
gram faculties were exposed to various aspects of embedded systems design and internet of things
aspects with hands on experience. The major technology areas which were covered during the
internship program were Node MCU, Digital and Analog Input/ Outputs using Node MCU ,
PWM generation and its applications, Sensors Interfacing (Temperature, Humidity, rotary encod-
ers etc.), Displays Interfacing (LCD, OLED, GLCD etc.), Communication Protocols (I2C, SPI
and 1-wire), Internet Connectivity of embedded systems using ESP module, Real time servers
such as Thingspeak and Google Cloud.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date;
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this

P A G E 1 1 V O L U M E 5 , I S S U E 2
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
We are very privileged to work in this issue of departmental newsletter. This
newsletter covers various activities like Faculty development Program,
workshops for students under IEEE student branch and Kaushalam. Faculty
Development Program on Internet of Things & It’s Applications enhances the
knowledge of faculties, staff and also students so that they can be aware of new
technologies and research areas in IOT. Along with this, Guest Lectures and
Workshop on recent and upcoming technologies were conducted for the benefit
of the students so that they have some insight of the latest trends. Also Fun
activities like JAM and technical presentations for the students were conducted
this time. These type of activities enhances the overall personality of the student .
