    B-Plan Competition-The Entrepreneur Inside

    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

    The statement should be kept short and business-like, probably no more than a page. It could be longer, depending on how complicated the use

    of funds may be, within that space, The executive summary should be submitted as a PDF document. Key elements that should be included are:

    1. Business concept : Describes the business, its product and the market it will serve. It should point out just exactly what will be sold, to whom

    and why the business will hold a competitive advantage.2. Financial features : Highlights the important financial points of the business including sales, profits, cash flows and return on investment.3. Financial requirement: Clearly states the capital needed to start the business and to expand. It should detail how the capital will be used, and

    the equity, if any, that will be provided for funding. If the loan for initial capital will be based on security instead of equity, you should also specifythe source of collateral.4. Current business position : Furnishes relevant information about the company, its legal form of operation, when it was formed, the principal

    owners and key personnel.

    5. Major achievements : Details any developments within the company that are essential to the success of the business. Major achievementsinclude items like patents, prototypes, location of a facility, any crucial contracts that need to be in place for product development, or results from

    any test marketing that has been conducted.

    Define Your Market Market Strategies are the result of a meticulous market analysis. A market analysis forces the entrepreneur to become familiar with all aspects of the market so that the target market can be defined and the company can be positioned in order to garner its share of sales. A market analysis alsoenables the entrepreneur to establish pricing, distribution and promotional strategies that will allow the company to become profitable within acompetitive environment. In addition, it provides an indication of the growth potential within the industry, and this will allow you to develop yourown estimates for the future of your business.

    All other points of bothering like sales potential, promotion plan, distribution, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) sales, projecting market

    share etc. should also be incorporated accordingly.

    RULESThe participants are to dress up in formal clothes for the event.

    The time limit for the B- Plan is 10+2 minutes. 10 minutes for the presentations followed by 2 minutes question-answer round.

    The length of the document must be restricted to 500 words, Times New Roman font, 14 pixels Font Size with 1.5 line spacing.The presentation must be restricted to 10 slides and should be created in MS PowerPoint 2007.

    The teams are required to provide the following information while registering:

    Name of the team members

    Name of the institution

    Contact Details

    E-Mail ID

    Send your entry to [email protected] latest by 30th October, 2012 .

    In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the moderator will be binding on all the participants.

    TEAM COMPOSITION

    A team comprises of maximum 4 members.

    One student cannot be part of more than one team.

    No change in the team structure is allowed after the team is registered. Please register your team after careful thought and deliberation.

    Live PresentationsFirst Round of Judging: All Business Venture Track Business Plan teams will be invited to make live presentations to a panel of judges on the competition day.Details will be announced as the Contest progresses.

    The Big Bank Theory-Be a Banker(Banking Simulation)

    ROUND 1Each team consists of 2-4 members.All teams will be handed out a questionnaire containing 15 questions, 13 MCQs and 2 subjective questions.The teams have ten minutes to answer the questions.For each correct answer, you get 3 points, for each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.The subjective questions are of two marks each, there is no negative marking for the subjective questions.The top four scoring teams move on to round 2.

    ROUND 2Qualifying teams would take up the roles of fictitious commercial banks.The requisite CRR, SLR, bank rate and repo rate will be provided to the teams by the central bank.The banks will be given an amount of 25,00,000 each as virtual money.The banks will decide on their interest rates and other operating policies.The banks have to lend loans to volunteers and other banks, accept deposits.

    Profits will be evaluated by adding the interest collected on loans.Banks and volunteers will be given chits signifying money which will be used to enter into transactions.The teams will have a time of four hours to operate; the team with the maximum profits at the end of the given time will be de-clared the winning team.The participants are allowed to move out of the room and interact with other teams to facilitate their operations.In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the moderator will be binding on all the participants.

    Bet It Up-The Gambler in You(Cricket Betting)

    ROUND 1Each team will consist of 2-3 members.Every team will be given a budget of 1,00,000.Eleven overs will be shown through audio visuals.Teams will be shown the first 3 balls of every over and they have to bet on the next 3 balls.The teams will be given a rate and they will guess whether the number of runs scored in the last 3 balls of the over will exceed the rate given.

    The amount they bet will get doubled if their guess is right. If their guess is not correct, they will lose the amount.Profits cannot be reinvested.The amount of money invested in one over should not be less than 1,000 or more than 20,000.The amount invested has to be in multiples of 1000.Top 4 teams (profit earned basis) will proceed to Round 2.

    ROUND 2Highlights of a cricket match will be played.

    The names of the playing eleven of both teams will be shown.Every team will be allowed to choose 3 players from the playing eleven of the cricket teams.On the basis of the profits earned in the first round, teams will be ranked from 1 to 4.Team 1 will get to choose the first player followed by the teams ranked 2, 3 and 4 respectively.After the players are distributed among the participating teams, the match highlights will be shown.1 run will be equivalent to 1 point; 1 wicket will be equivalent to 20 points; a catch or run out will be equivalent to 10 points.The top 2 teams earning maximum points will be declared as winners.In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the moderator will be binding on all the participants.

    Business Snakes and Ladders(A B-Quiz with a Twist)

The number of steps the team advances on the play boarddecreases with the number of clues seen for a question.(The member moves six steps on the board if he gets the answer without using a single clue and moves one step forward if he usesall six clues.)If a team is unable to guess the answer even after using six clues, the representative of that team remains on the same number.The first team to reach 100 wins.In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the moderator will be binding on all the participants.

    Cross college teams are allowedEntry fee : Rs 1200 per team (8 players)

    RULES 1) A team would comprise of a minimum of 8 players ( 5 will be playing )2) There will be a maximum of 16 teams3) Knockout tournament4) Rolling substitutions will be followed5) There will be no offside6) If the ball goes out of play, an INDIRECT kick in will be taken along the ground7) 12 minute halves, 2 min break in between8) There will be no extra time, if scores stay level; well have a penalty shootout 9) Yellow Card: The player will be substituted for 4 minutes2 Yellow Cards/Red card: Sits out of the game, and misses the next match

    10) Each team has to be present 10 minutes before the allotted time. If any team fails to reach the ground till 5 minutes after the allotted time, theyshall forfeit the match11) Adding insult to injury:a) If a team is leading by 4 goals, they can substitute ONE player of the opposition for 4 minsb) if a team is leading by 5 goals, they can have an additional player (ie 6 on the field) for 3 mins.

    ROGER THAT(LAN Gaming Event: CS+NFS-MW)

    Counter-StrikeMATCH FORMAT

    Every Prelims and quarters match will be played on one map with a total of 14 rounds.7 rounds each as Counter Terrorist and Terrorist.The start money for the match will be $800.The team first to win 8 matches will be the winner of the match.For the Semi-Finals and Finals total number of rounds will be 20 (10 each as counter terrorists and terrorists).The team first to win 11 rounds will be the winner of the match.For each round win, team will be rewarded 1 point.

    TIE BREAKER There will be 6 extra played on the same map, 3 each as counter Terrorist and Terrorist.The start money for the tie breaker will be $10000.The team will start as it finished in the normal rounds (Counter Terrorist or Terrorist) and team change after three rounds.The team first to win 4 rounds total will be the winner of the match.

    If a tie breaker also leads to a draw then 1 extra round will be played and the winner will be the winner of the match.The above rules apply for the matches except for the finals.

    FINALS2 maps will be played by the teams in the final with the same rules as given before (number of total rounds will be 20) except for thetie breaker and the selection of the maps will be random.The team with the highest number of points after 2 maps will be the winner.Tie breaker: Another Map will be played (number of total rounds will be 14). The winner of this map will be the winner of CS 1.6.

    In case of another tie, tie- breaker rules given before will be applied.

    RULESPlayers must be present in the tournament area with the entire team at the notified schedule. Players are advised to be present afew minutes before the schedule to avoid any unpredictable delay. If the team is not present at the notification schedule, they shallbe disqualified.Teams will be given 5 minutes to configure their settings and after that use of console or change in settings will bestrictly prohibited.

    A Knife Match will be done to decide the side team wants to take.The players have the freedom to bring and use their own controlling device, that is, mouse (USB only).If the match is involuntarily interrupted (player crash, server crash, etc.).If one of the players is disconnected or crashed, he must come back in to the game as soon as possible and the round will berestarted.If the server crashes before 3 rounds, the whole game shall restart from the beginning else the score will be recorded and in thenew game start money will be set to $4000.No compensation will be given in the money earned in game and lost due to interruption of the match.No change in the team composition is allowed after the first match.

    Use of tactical shield is strictly forbidden. Scroll Walking is prohibited if a team uses itintentionally or unintentionally, his team loses the match immediately. Intentional orunintentional use of bugs and/or exploits is strictly forbidden. Any questions regarding bugs

    and/or exploits must be brought to the tournament official present there. If a team is found touse bugs and/or exploits, the opponent team shall be declared as the winner of the match anda warning will be given to the team that used bugs and/or exploits by the tournament official.

    The above rules are to be strictly followed. Violation of the same may result in disqualification of the player(s)and/or team, as per the jurisdiction of the tournament official. The decision of the tournament official will be fi-nal in all conditions.

    General

    Competition Method : 1 v/s 1

    Game Type : CircuitHost, client will be announced before the match or decided by coin toss. (Only for LAN Tournament)

    At the end of each match, players must maintain the final screens and receive confirmation from a referee.

    Winning a race : The winner of a race is the first player to complete 5 laps of the circuit course and cross the finish line.

    Graphic settings such as motion blur can be set using external utilities.

    The use of Porsche GT and BMW M3 are NOT allowed.

    Disconnection :

    Any disconnection of the connection between match players due to System, Network, PC, and/or Power problems/issues.

    Intentional Disconnection: Upon judgment by the referee, any offending player will be charged with a loss by forfeit

    If the disconnection is deemed to be unintentional by the referee, the match will be restarted. If any player does not agree to a match restart,that player will lose by default .

    Penalty:

    Unfair play.Use of any cheat program.

    Intentional disconnection.

    Use of any settings exceeding standard and permitted settings

    If the match is disrupted due to unnecessary chatting, the player may be given a warning or lose by default at the referees sole discretion.

    Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, that player will be disqualified from the tournament.

    During the course of any match, the operations staff and/or referee may determine other actions to be unfair play at any t ime.

    Two warnings constitute being disqualified from the tournament.

    Stalking the Stock-Mock Stock

    PRELIMINARY ROUND:RULES

    The preliminary round will be of a quiz based on finance.The preliminary round will be of 15 minutes. Each question has to be answered in one word or sentence as per the requirement.Questions marked with * or ** are questions that carry special advantage and the participants who give answer to these questions shallbe given more weightage.Use of internet or mobiles is strictly prohibited.Top 10 teams with the highest marks will go into the second round.Any team flouting the rules shall be immediately disqualified.

    MOCK STOCK

    RULESThe DSE (DDUC Stock Exchange) shall comprise of companies/currencies that will be affected by the situations simulated and the headlinesshown in each round.The event shall consist of 4 trading rounds . Shares/currencies can only be bought in multiples of 5 .Final net worth will be calculated by adding the net value of all the shares/currencies owned by a team at the end of the game to the cash inhand.The team with the highest profit shall be declared the winner.

    All other surprise rules will be declared during the commencement of the event.
