What We Learned About Best Practice• Students need multiple
opportunities to demonstrate learning
• We cannot rely on a single assessment to determine student achievement
• Allow new evidence of achievement to replace old evidence
• Important to use Summative & Formative assessment
• Feedback needs to be specific, timely, and understandable
![Page 5: Meet the 2010-2011 Assessment Committee](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062717/56812a9d550346895d8e5bcd/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
What We Learned About Best Practice• Students need to know what and
where the target is in order to achieve the goal
• Encourage self-assessment, reflection, and goal setting
• Provide students a model, choice• Less evaluative feedback• Measure more than content
standards (HoM & P21)• Purposeful and intentional
grading practices
