McDonald's Corporation is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 64 million customers daily in 119 countries. The business began in

1940, with a restaurant opened by brothers Richard and Maurice

McDonaldin San Bernardino, California.

PRODUCTS:

McDonald's predominantly sells hamburgers, various types of chicken sandwiches and products, French fries, soft drinks, breakfast items, and desserts. In most markets, McDonald's offers salads and vegetarian items, wraps and other localized fare.

GLOBALIZATION: McDonald's has become emblematic of globalization, sometimes referred to as the "McDonaldization" of society. The Economist newspaper uses the "Big Mac Index": the comparison of a Big Mac's cost in various world currencies can be used to informally judge these currencies' purchasing power parity. Norway has the most expensive Big Mac in the world as of July 2011, while the country with the least expensive Big Mac is India (albeit for a Maharaja Mac—the next cheapest Big Mac isHong Kong).

With the expansion of McDonald's into many international markets, the company has become a symbol of globalization and the spread of the American way of life. Its prominence has also

made it a frequent topic of public debates about obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility.

The original mascot of McDonald's was a man with a chef's hat on top of a hamburger shaped head whose name was "Speedee." Speedee was eventually replaced with Ronald McDonald by 1967

when the company first filed a U.S. trademark on a clown shaped man having puffed out costume legs.

We will compare two of the best fast-food restaurants in our country. These restaurants are mostly frequented by young college students, thanks to the accessibility of their prices.

Both are great restaurants, with a few differences: for example, El Corral has a better flavor than McDonald’s, and many other consider that the meat in El Corral is more nutritious

than McDonald’s.

The people that go for the dietetic side of the matter, consider McDonald’s salads to be more nutritious than El Corral’s salads.

And when accompanied by children, parents consider McDonald’s play place is bigger, more fun, and more appealing to children than El Corral’s.

For college students, it is more important to choose the restaurant based on the prices at which their foods are sold, which is why most of them prefer McDonald’s, because their hamburgers are cheaper than El Corral’s.

We cannot overlook the fact that El Corral is a national product, while McDonald’s is North American, which is probably why it is more bigger around the world than El Corral but it is Colombia’s biggest burger chain.
