Hello all, Sorry I missed you at the June general meeting. I heard the dinner cooked up by Butch and Pat was awesome and some wonderful side dishes were contributed by other members. As you may have heard, we completed the task of refilling several years of prior tax returns. Now comes the hard part, paying for those past due taxes and penalties as well as the costs of refilling the tax returns. Yvonne hosted the general meeting in my absence and inquired as to any interested parties that would be willing to loan SCCHA funds in hopes we could pay off the taxes due quickly and not incur additional penalties and late fees. The Board would like to ensure that any loans (which we have received a few) received towards this debt will be paid back as promptly as possible and will be classified as a priority to repay. Those of you that have loaned funds, I can only express our gratitude. I can assure you that we have taken steps to prevent this from ever happening again. We will have much to celebrate once this is all done but until then we are tightening down on all existing costs and making attempts to reduce our overhead wherever possible. We cannot expend money that is not mandatory when we have asked the membership for assistance to pay an outstanding debt. Hopefully in the near future we can resume our scheduled monthly horse events and spend more time with our horses and friends. That is, after all, what we enjoy most. Thank you for your patience and support during these past few months and many thanks to our Board Members who have spent much time reconciling records. Have a safe 4th of July and hope to see you all at the August general meeting. Mary Anderson President

SCCHA GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
June 19, 2015 Meeting called to order at 8:07pm by Yvonne Lee Flag salute led by David Hogg (guest) Membership: No new members, but have a couple soon to be members. Olivia Guentensperger (this is her third event), Kyle Woodlief (this is his third event), David Hogg (this is his second event), and Tia Smouse (this is her third event). New Business:
• Kitty - still building trails at Calero that should be open in March 2016. The staging area will be at Fortini; bikers will have their own trail and so will the horses. There is still no bridge on Almaden road. Once everything is done there will be a trail that connects from Cañanda Road to Lexington.
• Lori - Next Saturday from 4pm-9pm Dreampower Horsemanship will be having a fundraiser. The cost is $75 and they will be serving dinner and wine. They are located off of 101 and Dunn in Morgan Hill. It's a pirate themed fundraiser with a DJ and silent auction. Can go to eventbright.com to get tickets.
• Bev - Tomorrow at Harvey Bear the San Martin Horsemen's will be hosting a trail trial clinic and poker ride. Ride out between 10am and 11am. Lunch will be served.
• Shalla - New western boutique opened up on Almaden Expressway and Blossom Hill called "Gunpowder and Lace". She has business cards that get you 10% off first purchase. Owners name is Kimberly Hiatt.
• Yvonne - Been invited back to participate in Salinas Rodeo parade. The parade is on the 18th and 19th but prefer to ride in the parade on the 18th. Need to get names of people who are interested in riding it this year. Contact Yvonne if interested. Parade lines up at 11am and rides out at 11:30am.
• Shalla - Teresa and Jerry are having a tack sale at Almaden Equestrian Center today and tomorrow. Also, Bolado Park is having their Saddle show in Hollister next weekend.
Rentals (Sandy): There are 3 rentals this month, 6 rentals in July, 3 rentals in August, 3 rentals in September, 4 rentals in October, and 1 in December so far. Treasurers Report (Yvonne): Beginning balance as of May was $8,803.99. Money in was $2,409.00; money out was $7,580.67. Ending balance was $3,632.32. Juniors account has $716.56. Savings has $2000.06 and liabilities has $13,400.00. Thanked the cooks for cooking (Pat, Butch, Norma) Thanked the beverage counter We need cooks for the August, September, and October meetings. Yvonne volunteered to do August, Jennifer Garcia can possibly do September; still need an October cook. Miscellaneous
• Pat - problems with the tax returns. We have ended up with a $10,000 tax liability we didn't expect. Asking if anyone in club can lend money to the club that we will pay back. Contact Pat if interested in helping out. We need to collect between $8,000 - $10,000. There is no deadline, we just want to stop the penalties and interest from accruing. Chris Minkler will loan $1,000. Also got another loan for $2,000, so we have collected $3,000 thus far.
• Chris Minkler - 4th of July parade in Morgan Hill. Horsemans is still participating this year. There is a new staging area for the horses. Riders should be there around 7am to start prepping horses. Please let Edie Behning know if you are interested in riding.
Insurance (Pat): Insurance is good. Horse events (Danielle) - June 28th we are having another 5D show. Sign ups are at 8am and riding starts at 9am. This is a cash only event as we pay money out to the winners. If any questions, contact Danielle Behning or Karen Tarasco. Bev mentioned that the San Martin Horsemen's is having a scavenger hunt in Mount Madonna. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place win money. Lunch is served. Ride out at 10am either in a group or as an individual. You are sent out with a list of things to find on the trail, but not everything on the list will be found and if you say you find it, points will be deducted. Any questions, contact Bev. Bar will still be open after meeting Butch motioned that the meeting be adjourned at 8:38pm; Bev seconded. All in favor. Meeting adjourned.
