Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars’ Senthikumara Nadar College was founded in the glorious year of

our Independence; 1947.The Primary aim of the College is to provide value-based Quality Education to

the backward and deserving students of this Region. College is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University

and has been producing eminent scholars, able administrators and spirited sports persons for the past six

decades.

MBA Program was started in 1995 with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to Madurai

Kamaraj University. Every batch had been producing University Ranks and students are being placed in

OBJECTIVES

A. To educate students in theory and practice of Management, demanding active students’

participation,

B. To bridge the gap between University Education and Industry,

C. To train students to participate in various activities as individuals and groups in order to enable

them to develop courage, integrity, creativity, self esteem and to develop Leadership skills,

D. To establish skills and attitude which are useful to the students in their future career.

How we do it? The Full Time MBA Program is divided in to 4 semesters in two years

FIRST YEAR:

There are five Core Courses in each of the I and II semester along with one Workshop Course

in each semester covering Life Skills and Managerial skills.

SECOND YEAR:

III Semester: - There are 3 Core courses, 2 Major electives and one minor elective. In addition there is

one Workshop course on Employability skills.

IV Semester: - There Are 2 Core courses, 2 Major electives and one minor elective.

Electives are offered in all the five Functional streams of Finance, Human Resources, Marketing,

Production and Systems with a choice of 6 electives under each Functional stream.

There will be a Summer Internship Training for duration of 4 weeks at the end of the II semester and a

Final Project for duration of 6 weeks during the IV Semester.

Students also have to take a Subject Viva Voce Examination at the end of each semester and Viva Voce

Examination each for the Summer Internship and Final Project at the time of completion.

Why MBA at VHNSN?

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE: - Spacious and well stocked Library has an impressive collection of

more than 5000 volumes of Management Books, 17 National Journals, 6 International Journals, 350

dissertations and 350 back volumes. Also available are many e journals including J Gate and EBSCO.

The library functions between 9.A.M. and 5.30 P.M. Open access system is followed and the students

can borrow three books per week.

COMPUTING FACILITIES: Department has an exclusive Computer Lab with 10 mbps Broad

connectivity through Wi-Fi, throughout the day. Faculty and Students can access Internet in all the Staff

rooms and Class rooms through Wi-Fi link. MOODLE platform is used in the Department for

networking the learning process.

The department possesses 2 OHP and four LCD projector and public address system such as 2 mikes, 1

sound mixer and 6 speakers.

LANGUAGE LAB: College has a well equipped Language Lab for enhancing communication skills of

the students.

PLACEMENT CELL; Headed by a full time Placement cum Training officer is actively functioning to

train and place the students. Campus interviews are organized exclusively for MBA students. Some of

well known recruiters are,

HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank, Genepact, Sutherland, ICICI Securities,

Madras cement, Karvy Consultants etc.,
