Four Homes of Mercy is a Christian run

home for the emotionally and physically disabled children (many of whom are orphans)and adults in the poor area of Bethany Israel - the very location where Jesus alwaysstayed when he came to Jerusalem (home of Lazarus, Mary and Martha, and Simon theLeper). They rely on donations to keep their doors open and one of the only ways tobring financial support to them is by hand.

Need Met - Because of yourgenerous donations the funds havebeen raised for Hicham to make the tripto Lebanon to see his dying father.Thank you for making this trip possible. Please pray for God's protection for thefamily as they travel.

THANK YOU for MAKING A DIFFERENCEBecause of your generous donations, LCC wasable to sponsor a See Through the Scripturesseminar in Haiti for 150 Lutheran Pastors andLay workers, equipping them with resourcesand materials to meet their exploding growth ofpeople coming to church!

52% of the people of Haiti practice Voodoo.Since the earthquake of January 11th, thosepracticing Voodoo realized that their practice ofVoodoo does not help them when in distress.

The Christian church has been there to reach out to them with food and clothing andshelter - and the Mercy and Compassion of Jesus Christ!

The Christian Church is growing daily! Becauseof your support, Rev Jeanel Jerome was able totake 150 people through the seminar this pastweekend. THANK YOU for not only supportingthe Physical needs of the people of Haiti, butalso and most importantly their Spiritual needs!(they want to know when they can do anotherseminar in another location!)

If you want to help make that happen you candonate now and when we have enoughresources to make it happen, we will schedule it!

Request from Christine Rechsteiner CampusMinistry Coordinator, Celebration Ministries,Park Forest, Illinois

We have a gentleman at our church that lost his job 7 months ago.In the meantime, while he looks for work, he has given 110% ofhis extra time in helping us get the ministry off the ground. His carbroke down last week and he continues to walk here (which takeshim an hour) to continue to be a blessing to us. The repairs to hiscar will cost $1500. He is divorced and pays child support for hisfour children. He just has enough money to pay his regular bills;

this car expense will put him behind. We are doing all we can to help him. Any additionalsupport for him would be such a blessing for this tireless servant!

Help LCC Purchase a Much Needed TruckLCC continues to supply food, clothing, furniture, and other needed items to families inneed through our churches. In the past we havedone most of this with donated vans andtrailers. As the needs increase, this is becomingtoo costly to operate. We also need a truck topickup items for Disaster Response. We wouldlike to purchase this truck to more efficiently dothis.

One of our volunteers has a 2003 FordRockport box truck that they are willing to sell to us at a great price. The truck has lessthan thirty-thousand miles on it and we can have it for $10,000. This would be such ahelp for us in our ongoing ministry of non-cash items! Could you help us purchase thistruck. LCC does not believe in going into debt so we will only purchase this if we canraise the money. Can you help us in our ever expanding ministry of helping those in needwith the Mercy and Compassion of Christ through churches! Thank you for all yoursupport!

Malaria Initiative`Malaria Initiative' is a non-profit corporation formed by Susan Busse M.D., ThomasHesselink M.D., and John Peterson, to bring spiritual and medical treatment to thosesuffering from Malaria, working with Lutheran Church Charities.

A treatment of acidified sodium chlorite at a cost of lessthan $00.01 USD. per dose has proven to be verypromising in preliminary laboratory and field trials. Wehave been working in Uganda, Sierria Leone, Ethiopia, and Ghana to improve our working relationship in thesecountries to further the treatment of Malaria using thisparticular treatment. Our goal is to spread the Message ofChrist and bring a useful and inexpensive treatment forMalaria; Malaria being the number one infectious killerworld wide.

We are currently working at gathering more scientific datafrom sites that have Malaria patients, to track them alongwith their progress, and to document the results of thetreatments so we can publish in medical journals. We aresupporting a PhD. student doing thesis work at WesternMichigan University on this promising treatment.

Malaria Initiative is looking to get help financing the above stated goals so they maytravel to train personnel and fulfill all our commitments. The three principals have takenno payment for their services, all have volunteered their services and funded much of thecosts out of pocket along with donations from generous donors.

When A Nation Forgets GodBy Lutzer Erwin

Years ago, a cartoon appeared in a Russian newspaper picturinga fork in the road. One path was labeled freedom; the other pathwas labeled sausage. As we might guess, the path to freedomhad few takers; the path to sausage was crowded with footprints. When given a choice people will choose bread and sausageabove the free market and individual liberties. The promise ofbread gets votes, even if the bread is at the expense of freedom.

The people of Nazi Germany weren't any more barbaric, uncivilized, or depraved thanany other Western nation of the early Twentieth Century, yet the Nazi regime will foreverserve as an example of brutality and extreme racism run amok. What led so many peopleto such extreme ends?
