NEED MET WITHIN A FEW HOURS OF SENDING Branches and stick removalRequest from Willis and AliceSchwichtenberg - Freeport, IL for Family inElgin, IL

My name is Alice Schwichtenberg, and I am married to WillisSchwichtenberg who is the pastor at Immanuel LutheranChurch in Freeport, IL. Yesterday, we went to Elgin, IL to takecare of the mowing of a lawn that needed it. The owner of thehouse died unexpectedly last August. His only relative is a sonin prison. That is how I heard of the lawn situation - through thelawyer who called here. Anyway, there are a lot of branchesand sticks there. We tried to carry them, or most of them, to thebackyard area. I am wondering if anyone in Elgin has a pickup truck who could comethere and take out the branches from off the ground. The elderly man who owned theproperty did not do that for years. If you can help, please call Alice or WillisSchwichtenberg at 815-235-8689

LCC Emergency Assistance FundLCC gets requests daily concerning people who needassistance, and it is increasing because of the currenteconomic times we are living in.

LCC works through our churches to provide assistance bymaking the need known - and dollar per dollar we give themoney to a church to help the family or individual. However,we receive some requests that are emergencies, and moneyis needed that day or the next day and we can't always getthe need out in our weekly email newsletter first.

Would you consider making a gift to our LCC EmergencyAssistance fund so that when these emergency needsoccur we can help (through our churches) quicker? This is animportant way for the Body of Christ to share the Mercy and

Compassion and Proclamation of Christ.

Help LCC Purchase a Much Needed TruckLCC continues to supply food, clothing, furniture, and other needed items to families inneed through our churches. In the past we havedone most of this with donated vans andtrailers. As the needs increase, this is becomingtoo costly to operate. We also need a truck topickup items for Disaster Response. We wouldlike to purchase this truck to more efficiently dothis.

One of our volunteers has a 2003 FordRockport box truck that they are willing to sell to us at a great price. The truck has lessthan thirty-thousand miles on it and we can have it for $10,000. This would be such ahelp for us in our ongoing ministry of non-cash items! Could you help us purchase thistruck. LCC does not believe in going into debt so we will only purchase this if we canraise the money. Can you help us in our ever expanding ministry of helping those in needwith the Mercy and Compassion of Christ through churches! Thank you for all yoursupport!

Malaria Initiative`Malaria Initiative' is a non-profit corporation formed by Susan Busse M.D., ThomasHesselink M.D., and John Peterson, to bring spiritual and medical treatment to thosesuffering from Malaria, working with Lutheran Church Charities.

A treatment of acidified sodium chlorite at a cost of lessthan $00.01 USD. per dose has proven to be verypromising in preliminary laboratory and field trials. Wehave been working in Uganda, Sierria Leone, Ethiopia, and Ghana to improve our working relationship in thesecountries to further the treatment of Malaria using thisparticular treatment. Our goal is to spread the Message ofChrist and bring a useful and inexpensive treatment forMalaria; Malaria being the number one infectious killerworld wide.

We are currently working at gathering more scientific datafrom sites that have Malaria patients, to track them alongwith their progress, and to document the results of thetreatments so we can publish in medical journals. We aresupporting a PhD. student doing thesis work at WesternMichigan University on this promising treatment.

Malaria Initiative is looking to get help financing the above stated goals so they maytravel to train personnel and fulfill all our commitments. The three principals have takenno payment for their services, all have volunteered their services and funded much of thecosts out of pocket along with donations from generous donors.
