purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive comments on the Scott County and Credit River, Jackson, and Louisville Townships Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs). As an annu-al requirement of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Storm Water Permit for Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s), Scott County and the three townships must receive pub-lic comment and opinion on the adequacy of their Storm Water Pollution Prevention Programs. Tigers Open Playoffs at Jordan Saturday

baseball team completed what was a condensed regular sea-son that included 17 games in 26 days. The Tigers finished the Minnesota River Conference campaign with a 7-7 record by splitting a doubleheader at Le Sueur-Henderson on Thursday. Friday’s nonconference game at Faribault Academies was cancelled due to rain. Last week began with a 12-2 loss to Holy Family Catholic on Tuesday at Tiger Park.Totino-Grace was scheduled

to make a rare appearance in Belle Plaine Tuesday after this edition of the Herald went to press. The game was added to the schedule last week as both teams wanted one more tune up before their respective postsea-sons get underway.The Tigers, who were 7-9

overall heading into Tuesday’s regular season finale, received the No. 6 seed for the Section 2AA, North Subsection Tour-nament and will travel to No. 3 seed Jordan (11-3) 1 p.m. this Saturday. The winner of that game will advance to take on the winner between No. 2 seed Glencoe-Silver Lake (12-2) and No. 7 Sibley East (8-8) at the home of the higher seed. The upper bracket of the North Sub-section features defending state Class 2A champion and No. 1 seed Holy Family Catholic (11-3), which received a first-round bye. The Fire will play Tues-day’s victor between No. 4 seed Norwood Young America (9-6) and No. 5 Watertown-Mayer (9-6).The top seed in the South

Subsection is Tri-City United, which finished 8-6 in the MRC. The Titans got a first-round bye and will play at home Thursday against the winner between No. 4 seed Maple River and No. 5 Le Sueur-Henderson. rors and expect to beat a good team like defending state Class 2A champion Holy Fam-ily Catholic. Belle Plaine had that many errors and the final score showed it as the visitors won 12-2 last Tuesday at Tiger Park.The Fire scorched the Tigers

early with four runs in the first inning, followed by one in the second, three in the third and one in the fourth to grab a 9-0 cushion. Belle Plaine’s only two runs were scored in the bot-tom of the fourth inning.Gavin Dauwalter started on

the mound and took some lumps, allowing seven runs (six earned) on six hits and four walks in two innings. Jack

Winders pitched the next four innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk. Luke Narveson pitched the final inning and the defense failed him as he surrendered three un-earned runs on one hit.“This was not one of our sharp-

est games as evidenced by our seven errors,” said Tigers coach Pat Schultz. “We were able to get everyone some work as we start the push for the playoffs.”Belle Plaine had just four hits,

including a home run by Jayden Howie. Zach Juaire, Derek Dahlke and Colton Hentges had the other hits.

Tigers 6, LS-H 5The Tigers surrendered five

unearned runs in the first inning but tied the game and took the lead with six runs in the third inning. Both teams went score-less the final three innings as Belle Plaine held on for the 6-5 victory in the first of two games Thursday at LS-H.“We got off to a tough start but

(starting pitcher) Jacob Meger did a great job of keeping us in the game and didn’t allow a runner past second the rest of the way,” Schultz said.The Tigers’ six-run outburst in

the third inning was highlighted by a two-out, two-run single by Mitchell Nelson.“We did a nice job of coming

back from the big early deficit and earning a victory,” Schultz said. Meger pitched all six innings

for the Tigers, allowing seven hits and no earned runs. He walked one and struck out four.Nick Eliason had a team-high

three hits and scored a run. Oth-er offensive leaders for Belle Plaine were Howie (two hits and one RBI), Nelson (one hit and two RBI) and Dahlke (one hit and one RBI).

LS-H 4, Tigers 2The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in

the bottom of the first inning but that’s where their offense ended as the Giants rallied for a 4-2 victory in Thursday’s night-cap.A double steal and a RBI sin-

gle by Jordan Johnson led to the Tigers’ lone two runs. Belle Plaine had just two hits, the other coming from Nelson. LS-H tied the game with two runs in the top of the second inning and took the lead with single tallies in the fourth and fifth in-nings.“This was another frustrat-

ing game where we took an early lead but couldn’t hold it,” Schultz said. “Jordan Johnson threw another strong game for us but was again plagued by er-rors that led to three unearned runs. Our bats never got going and we seemed uncomfortable all night. We need to continue working on having a good ap-proach and quality at-bats as we head into the playoffs.”Johnson tossed five innings,

allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits. Eliason pitched the final inning and allowed no runs.

MRC Golf Tournaments Postponed Until Today

The Minnesota River Con-ference boys’ and girls’ golf tournaments scheduled for this past Monday at Timber Creek Golf Course in Watertown were postponed until today (Wednes-day) due wet grounds.There is also a change in lo-

cation, from Timber Creek to Glencoe Country Club.Today’s rounds are scheduled

to get underway at 9 a.m. The Belle Plaine girls enter today with the season lead in the con-ference point standings, while the Tiger boys are fourth.The subsection tournament

is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. next Tuesday at Le Sueur Country Club. The section tour-nament is set for June 3 at New Prague Golf Course.
