Lakeville North InvitationalLakeville North calls its annu-

al invitational the Mega Meet and that it was as the event was filled with some of the best big-school teams in the area. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the meet brought a halt to their string of consecutive first-place team finishes dating back to last year’s state Class 1A meet and beyond.Finishing at the top of the

heap was Minnetonka with 112 points. Prior Lake was second with 90, followed by Forest Lake (73), Blake (60), Bloom-ington Jefferson (58), Orono (49), Lakeville North (48), Anoka (45), New Prague (39), Belle Plaine (36), woodbury (14), North Branch (10), Elk River (10), Henry Sibley (10), Totino-Grace (7) and Minneha-ha Academy (4).The Tigers mustered two first-

place finishes. Among them was the 4x100-meter relay team of Jenna Gatz, Donkhong, Dik-men and Ally Fink with a time of 51.37. Bloomington Jeffer-son was second in 51.54.Dikmen accounted for Belle

Plaine’s only other first, win-ning the 100-meter hurdles in 16.03, a half-second ahead of woodbury’s vanessa versaguis (16.53).The Tigers had two other top-

five placers – the 4x200 relay team (fourth) and Haley Leger in the high jump (fifth).“we were able to pick up

this meet against very large AA schools after last spring’s high state meet finish,” said Belle Plaine coach Rich Foust. “we knew when we accepted the invitation to this meet that our girls would be competing against some of the best track athletes in the area. The girls really responded well to the competition and we had many personal bests throughout the day.”

Boys’ ResultsBelle Plaine Triangular

Tri-City United won 12 of the 18 events as it racked up 119 points to win last Tuesday’s triangular in Belle Plaine. The Tigers were second with 114 points and Sibley East was last with 43.winning their individual

events for the Tigers were Ru-ben Baltierrez (300 hurdles) and Dalton Friedrichs (high jump). Belle Plaine was victo-rious in three relays – 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400. TCU won the 4x800 and Belle Plaine was second.
