Your Board of Directors is an all volunteer group committed to the continued growth, prosperityand camaraderie of the University Club. It is made up of 14 dedicated individuals who meet monthly
to discuss and manage club business. They, as a group, recognize that retaining and building on thetraditions of the Clubs first century of existence is just as important as staying relevant in our current
fast-paced technology-driven world. Beyond attendance at meetings, each board member volunteers theirtime and skills in a myriad of other ways. The Club has been very fortunate to have such highly motivated
and committed people to serve on the Board for the last 112 years.
Please join us for the 112th Annual Meeting on Friday, May 3rd to cast your vote of confidence and ap-preciation for the anticipated service of the following individuals who have been nominated for the 2013-2014 Board of Directors:

The Annual Meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and votes can be cast from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.that day. Election results will be announced at approximately 8:15 p.m. We hope you willmake plans to attend the meeting, join us for dinner and then stay for MotherJudge in theGrille Room.
The University Club Foundation is proud to present this returnengagement of MotherJudge as part of their participation in First
Friday. Featured on PBS affiliate WMHT as part of the "WomenWho Rock" series nationally broadcast in 2011, Caroline Mother-Judge is described as an Americana alt-folk diva. She performs,writes and produces music in Upstate New York, drawing frominfluences that range from the country blues of Hank Williamsand Ray Charles to swampy rhythms and the deep gospel soulsounds of Sister Rosetta Tharpe. The performance is free. Alacarte dinner will be available from 5-9 p.m. Please call 463-1151if you plan to be there!

Jeff Speck has dedicated his career todetermining what makes cities thrive;and, he has boiled it down to one keyfactor: walkability. His book, Walk-able City: How Downtown can SaveAmerica, One Step at a Time, is a
primer on why walkability matters,how cities in our country can achieveit, and how it can make the differencebetween our cities thriving or failing.

This year the Foundation will honoThomas Clingan who has served aAlbany County Clerk for nearly a quarter century. During his tenure, he leefforts to protect and conserve historidocuments dating back four centuries.
We are also pleased to welcomStephan Bielinski as the featurespeaker for ourPinkster CelebrationBielinski is the director of the ColoniaAlbany Social History Project. The Colonial Albany Social History Project is
model community history program othe New York State Museum, anagency of the State Education Department through its Office of Cultural Education. It was launched in 1981 to further understanding of pre-industriacommunity life by studying the contri
butions of those who lived in the city oAlbany during its formative years.
Tickets are $50, including cocktails &light fare from 6-7 p.m. followed by
presentation by Bielinski. Support foeducational programming presented bthe University Club Foundation is provided by AT&T. Proceeds benefit thUniversity Club Foundation. Reservations are required and can be made bcalling the Club at 463-1151 or awww.uclubevents.blogspot.com.

Donations for the University Club Foundations Chair Drive continue to come indaily and we are very grateful to those who have already given. Thanks to themwe have almost reached our initial goal of replacing 70 banquet chairs!
Be the one to put us over! All you haveto do is fill out the form below and returnit to the club with a check made out to the
University Club Foundation (which makesit eligible for a tax-deduction!).
Our next seating goal is to replace sofas inthe living room/lobby area that are in lessthan stellar condition.
