MATEOS™ FOR SOLIDWORKS
INTEGRATION WITH ARAS
Mateos™ neutral design integration platform is a collaborativeplayfield for the designer fraternity of an organization.
It enhances designer’s productivity allowing more time to innovateby synchronizing designs in a centralized PLM data repository for theglobal enterprise throughout the product’s maturity from conceptto production, right from the designer’s native CAD environment.

Enhanced productivity and
collaborative development:
• Seamless design co-development
throughout the concept-to-production
product phases within the organization
and external suppliers
• Right design version & variants
information at the right time for the
extended enterprise
• Granular comparison (both structure
and data), chat, share screen, give
control and co-design with peers
• Context-sensitive natural UI; designers
spend more time in designing rather
than routine data management, sync
and communication overheads
• Staying ‘live’ and course corrections
with design changes in the server
and local
• Simplified administrative routines
with a highly configurable system
and an in-built license management
server
Shorten time to market and
operational costs:
• Centralized design data
management eliminating duplication
& errors
• Enhanced design discovery, reuse
and swift product change process
• Design process standardization
across various corporate initiatives
Increase quality (2 to 3 fold)
Increase Productivity (40% to 90%)
Quicker Time to Market (25% to 70%)
Product Development Time (25% to 90%)
Reduce Product Changes (50% to 60%)

The Design Integration basics:
• Design structure management and synchronization of models with EBOM in PLM reducingredundancy and data integrity errors
• Multi-Format Management: Handle various Solidworks models, drawings, templates, viewers, images and reference document types
• Local design workspace bi-directionally synchronized and controlled with PLM Server to stay-live.Perform major PLM related design activities with context-sensitive menu directly from Solidworks
• Visual status indicating changes with respect to server design data
• Search PLM or local workspace, reserve models & drawings, check-in, check-out, auto-recognize,resolve ambiguities, bidirectional attribute sync, revision and version management, design changehistory and traceability, where-used, design finalization and release management
• Latest revision/version, configuration, effective dates based design check-in / check-out operations
Design Templates Management to reusedesigns and improve quality with processstandardization
Drawing generation with auto-updates oftitle block attributes
Digital Mockup: Lightweight 2D/3Dmockups provide previews on models priorto actual design operations. View, edit, annotate and communicate with in-builtneutral viewers
• Explore PLM and navigateright within the nativeSolidworks environment
• Thumbnail and viewersupport in Aras PLM pagesenabling digital mockup &visualization on the webwithout the native CADtool
• 3D PDF generation
• Local design workspacebi-directionallysynchronized with thePLM server in real-time

Custom Attribute / Design Type mapping forflexible and seamless attribute sync. Search, view, edit and sync custom attributes both inSolidworks and PLM
A comprehensive design dashboard for
an engaging natural and transparent UI
that:
• Presents recently designed models and
frequently accessed briefcase items
with complete server auto-sync
• Rich design tiles: Context-Sensitive
smart tiles displaying server status,
reservation controls and quick action
links for routine operations
• One-touch navigability between the
design IDE, local workspace and PLM
• Break-less designing
leveraging background
processes for PLM file
operations
• Comprehensive design folders
and files management
• Advanced Filtering: Pre & post,
flexible summary filters, smart
context-sensitive operations
based on filtered conditions
• Views: Intuitive hierarchical
design grid, configurable multi-
form views with carousels and
thumbnails in vibrant theme
combinations.

Product configurability and
preferences: Admin and designer
level preferences to have granular
control on design data management.
To name a few - configurable auto-
sync intervals for design status with
the Aras PLM server. Real-time
switching options between PLM
design databases
Localization support for global
languages
File Transfer: Design data file transfers are
fast, reliable and parallel with background,
pause-resume options
Inbuilt License Management: Zero admin
overhead in managing the license server and
handling personnel movements
Neutral integration framework to leverage
multi-CAD and/or multi-PLM usage in different
departments of the organization at a
centralized location.
Collaboration: MS Lync based chat with person who has
reserved or conference with designers of previous versions.
Pre-configurable chat text and design mockups are
automatically inset in the chat terminal for instant context
setting regarding the agenda. Share screens, snapshot-n-
mail, grant control to design, annotate, communicate and
co-design
Tightly coupled advanced PLM operations within
Solidworks IDE. As an example, when the designer saves a
file, he/she can configure his IDE to either save the design
(File Save or CTRL + S) in the local workspace or Aras
PLM server directly or at both places. Similarly during
opening a file (File Open or CTRL + O), options to open
files from the local workspace or directly from Aras PLM are
available
