From Our Deacon Candidate

On Sunday, Sept 18th, we heard from members of

our St. Vincent de Paul Society. This ministry

provides essentials to our local brothers and sisters

in need.

Every Christian bears a baptismal call to service.

Thus, we all ought to participate in St. Vincent de

Paul’s works of mercy according to our own

circumstances. Some will contribute financially

while others will volunteer their time. Many will

do both. I recently signed up as a volunteer. Please

remember this vital ministry in your prayers. In

case we forget, St. Theresa of Calcutta might

remind us!

Shalom.

Steve Kaneb

Young Voices Needed!

Our Children's Choir has officially

resumed singing at the 9am Mass!

All boys and girls in grades 3-8 are

invited to join us in glorifying God, learning about

music and our Catholic Faith, and enriching the Mass

through sacred music! Weekly rehearsals will be on

Monday nights at 6:15pm, and we sing each Sunday at

the 9 am Mass. Interested? Contact choir director

Jolene Nelson at [email protected] for more

information.

WHY SHOULD I ENROLL MY CHILD IN THE

CHILDREN'S CHOIR?

REASON #5:

Pueri Cantores! The OLMM Children's Choir is a member choir of Pueri Cantores, the official international organization of Roman Catholic youth choirs, under the Vatican Dicastery of the Laity, Family, and Life. As a member choir, singers in grades 4 and up are invited to sing with hundreds of other young people in regional choir festivals in some of our nation's finest churches and cathedrals under the direction of world-class conductors. Ask any of of our choir members about their experience in Boston last year, and they'll tell you they can't wait to go back again!

Dear Second Grade Families,

This week your child brought home an important

letter about their upcoming Sacramental

Preparation. The first date to remember is…

Monday, November 7th at 6pm at OLMM for a

Reconciliation meeting for our parents-guardians.

I look forward to sharing this journey of faith with

your families!

Sherry

Below are just a couple of the CD titles available in our Lighthouse Media Collection:

Why Go to Mass: The Blood of the New Covenant If you ever feel bored at Mass or think that you don't get much out of it, this talk is for you. Most Reverend Alexander K. Sample, Archbishop of Portland, provides theological and practical reasons why we need to come to a deeper understanding of the nature of the Mass. By understanding the Mass as a sacrifice and a sacred banquet, we can tap into the transforming power offered whenever we worship.

The Truth What is the meaning of life? Fr. Larry Richards tackles life's biggest question with straightforward, timeless, and often jolting answers. In this one-of-a-kind, life-affirming reality check, he unlocks the mysteries of our existence and opens our hearts and souls to the meaning of life. The Truth will give you concrete answers on how to live. We kindly ask for a donation of $4.00 per book (or otherwise specified suggested donation), $3.00 per CD, $2.00 per booklet and $0.50 per pamphlet so that we may continue this program. Please make all checks out to “OLMM.” Won’t you reach out and help bring someone home?

NATIONAL LIFE CHAIN

The Hampton Knights of Columbus have sponsored the National Life Chain the largest peaceful, prayerful, pro

-life, public witness in the world here at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish in the last few years. The date

for this year’s national event, Sunday, October 2nd, conflicts with the 40 Days for Life Greenland United bus

tour. Recognizing the urgency for ending America’s abortion crisis, 40 Days for Life is bringing its unprecedented 40-day

nationwide bus tour to the public right of way outside of Lovering Health Center, at 559 Portsmouth Avenue, Greenland,

NH, on Sunday October 2nd from 2:00 - 2:30pm.

As an alternative to hosting the National Life Chain event here at OLMM, the Knights of Columbus, along with family and

friends, will gather in the OLMM parking lot at 1:15pm on Sunday October 2nd in order to car pool to the 40 Days for Life

event in Greenland. We thank all parishioners who have supported the Life Chain in the past and we invite ALL

parishioners to join us in this worthy event.

The Greenland tour stop will share a pro-life message of hope with Christians who are united in prayer and fasting during

this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign, which runs from September 28th to November 6th in more than 360 cities around the

globe.

powerhouse of prolife leaders. Parking

available in the Greenland Town Offices
