Cost is $30 for a ticket in the all-you-can-eat porch. Transportation will be provided by the church. We will leave from Marvin at 4 p.m. and will return following the game. Securing tickets for the game is on a first-come first-serve basis, and there are 30 reserved. Tickets will only be reserved after payment is made. To purchase your tickets please come by the Recreation office. If you have any questions please contact Amy Elliott. SPLASH WEEK Music Splash Week is a fun week of ringing, singing, music making, recreation, treats and splash day. Come sail with us on the USS Marvin July 26-30. Music camp is for children 4 years (by Sept. 1, 2010) through fifth grade. It meets from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Lunch is provided. The optional afternoon sessions are for children in third through fifth grades. We’ll have a fun activity every day (Caldwell Zoo, drama, Discovery Science Place and Time Square Cinema) from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per activity. Friday is splash day. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. we will meet at Tyler Tennis and Swim, 320 Shiloh Road, for fun in the water. Children must have their own adult supervision and may be required to take a swim test. Cost is $5 per guest. Get registration forms in the Welcome Center. EXPLORE EAST TEXAS DAY CAMP The Explore East Texas day camp for children going into third, fourth and fifth grades will be Aug. 2–5. It will be four fun-filled days exploring all East Texas has to offer. We will explore Caldwell Zoo, East Texas Gators and Wildlife Park, Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge and the Texas Freshwater Fishery. We will have lunch at each location and explore what Jesus has to offer us. Registration ends July 16 and the cost is $50 per child. To register go to the recreation office. SINGle aDultSJuly 17 — mid-age college night theme party, “sweatin’ out the summer,” at 7 p.m. at the home of daniel olson. We’ll have a barbecue dinner and we will take donations to buy fans for needy families.

John robbins and dr. brian Campbell on a special trip to england June 6-15, 2011. the tour will focus on the beginnings of John and Charles Wesley’s Methodist movement and the rich english culture of art, music, architecture and cathedrals. wrItING wOrKShOp how well does your writing communicate? Come to our four-week workshop on basic writing skills for all ages. dr. Jerry Carson will lead the one-hour classes. he has extensive teaching experience and is a stephen Minister.

the workshop will meet at 10 a.m. on the first four tuesdays in August in the Faith classroom. the first meeting is Aug. 3. register at the Welcome Center or on the web site.

MID-weeK MeDItatIONtake a break in the middle of the week. Come to the chapel at 12:05 p.m. each Wednesday for Mid-Week Meditation, a 30-minute service of prayer, scripture reading and Communion.

New SuNDay SchOOl claSSthe first meeting of the one size Fits All sunday school class will be Aug. 1. Marvin clergy will initially lead the class, which is for adults of all ages. the class will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Connection room.

thank you to those who have volunteered to facilitate a

bible in 90 days small group in the fall. Many leaders are needed to make this church-wide focus a success for our church family. it is not too late to volunteer to facilitate a group. Groups will meet both on and off campus on any day of the week. Congregation members are invited to begin informally inviting others to help form a group. Group sign-up will begin officially in August.

uNDIe SuNDaySduring the four sundays in July, we will collect underwear and socks for the children of the st. Paul Children’s Foundation. Marvin has been asked to focus on children who wear sizes 4, 5 and 6. Please bring your donations to the collection tubs located around the church during July.

recreatIONthere are still a few spots open for volunteers in the recreation Ministry. We need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer the phone, hand out towels and equipment and help with mailings. You can volunteer as little as once a month. Contact Amy elliott for information.

MeNour Monday Morning Men’s study Group is beginning a new study of david that will take us through the year. Many of us haven’t thought much about what david did, but he has much to offer in revealing how God loved him and how he related to everyday problems. david’s method can offer a template for solving our big problems.

All men are invited to join us from 6:30-7:30 each Monday morning at the Wesley building. Come at 6:15 for coffee and donuts.

laymen’s lunch meets from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each Wednesday in Pirtle hall to study various topics.
