DISCIPLESHIP QUESTIONS…
WHAT IS DISCIPLESHIP?
. Is there a Paul in your life?
. Is there a Timothy who you are mentoring spiritually?
In his book DiscipleShift (p 51), Jim Putman uses a Biblical
definition from Matthew 4:19 as a person who is:
. Follow Me: following Christ………………………. [HEAD]
. I will make you: being changed by Christ………… [HEART]
. Fishers of men: committed to the mission of Christ.. [HANDS]
“A Disciple is a follower of Christ, being changed by Christ and
on the mission of Christ.”
“A Disciple is a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ who is
Reproducing fruit that remains.” -Marty Dupree
JESUS DEFINES A DISCIPLE:
“By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and
so prove to be my disciples.” -JOHN 15:8 (NASB)
QUESTIONS FOR ACCOUNTABILITY AND GROWTH: . What are you doing for your Quiet Time with the Lord?
. What is God teaching you? [LISTEN]
. What are you learning? [LEARN]
. Have you shared your faith with anyone recently?
. Tell us about it! [LIVE]
WHAT DOES A DISCIPLE DO?
. Shares the Gospel
. Builds Disciple-making relationships
. Duplicates themselves—(mature and multiply)
ARE YOU A DISCIPLE MAKER? “AS YOU GO, MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL THE NATIONS…” -

Mission Serve in LRBA !
We were blessed July 16-20 with 120 youth and leaders from S. Carolina through the Mission Serve program. A huge thanks to Angier Baptist Church for housing everyone!
The Gathering Church led in planning and coordinating the projects. Sixty of the youth were as-signed to light construction, while the other sixty did requested ministry. In the mornings, they surveyed neighborhoods in Western Harnett for an anticipated new church start. Afternoons were varied between backyard Bible Clubs, thrift-store and school assistance. Youth were instructed in conversational-evangelism and had daily evening worship time. We pray many will want to continue missions service.
What a great joy to add others into our summer outreach—right here in our association. By these, along with the many (31 reported) churches doing local summer outreach activities, God has and is, helping us to touch lives in the name of Jesus, for His kingdom! God is good! All the time . . . All the time, God is good!
All ages having fun at VBS,
learning more about Jesus!
Loving God and
Loving Others!
Thank you, Jesus !
