A heavier 638kg heifer next at 230p/kg and overall top value at £1,467, and steer at 228p/kg (£1,352), both bought by J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station.

A similar entry to last week contained fewer forward sorts but lots of quality, the trade remaining at dizzy heights and no let-up in demand. A lovely run of 14 Limousin x steers from Mr. E.P. Eustice of Fraddam saw top bunch of four at 22-23 months old hit £1,250 (pictured). Next at £1,225 were a South Devon x 22 month old steer pair from Mr. J.R. Stephens of St. Winnow. An entry of 15 strong Simmental crosses from Mr. I. Norman of Lanteglos-by-Fowey saw steer trios to £1,080 including one at 13 months, and four heifers £905 including one at 15 months. An entry of 20 mainly 10-11 month old named-sire Aberdeen Angus crosses from Devichoys Farm Ltd of Perranarworthal saw best bunch of four steers £815 and top heifer trio £790. Leading the heifers and overall top in the store section at £1,280 were a smart South Devon pair 21-22 months old from Mr. T.G. Hawke of Colan. Next at £990 were an 18 month+ trio of Limousin x heifers from an entry for Messrs. R.G. & J.M. Prowse of St. Allen.

Rundle of Mevagissey sold to £248 and their British Blue x £242, with leading heifer a Simmental x from the same farm at £190. A nice entry of 10 week old stirks for Messrs. A.D. & J.A. Bray of St. Martin saw their British Blue crosses topping with males to £405 and pair of heifers each £365.
