Muerte! Una palabra que a muchos asusta pero que es una realidad. Estaremos listos para morir? Jesús durante su calvario se preparó y afrontó la muerte con gol-pes, insultos y mucho dolor, aún sabiendo lo que le esperaba El dió la vida por no-sotros y nos libró de todo pecado. Ahora bien, esta-mos listo internamente y preparados espiritualmente para recibir la muerte? Cuánto conocemos a Nuestro Padre, el que nos vas a recibir en su Reino? Estamos dispuestos a sufrir como lo hizo su Hijo Amado? Du-rante estas últimas semanas de Cuaresma les invito a reflexionar y a prepararnos interna y espiritualmente para así conocer más a Jesús nuestro Salvador, que nada ni nadie nos quite este tiempo de oración, ayuno y ayuda a los demás. Que este sea un tiempo especial y personal con Jesús, acompañenos en Semana Santa a revivir esos últimos momentos de la vida de Jesús.

Death! “Death” is a word that scares many, but it is a reality we cannot escape. Are you ready to die? Jesus during journey to Calvary prepared for and faced death with blows, insults and much pain. Even knowing what awaited him, He gave his life for us and delivered us from all sin. Now, are we ready, internally and spirit-ually, and prepared to receive death? How well do we know Our Father, who will receive us into His King-dom? Are we willing to suffer as His Beloved Son did? During these last weeks of Lent I invite you to reflect and prepare yourselves internally and spiritual-ly so that we may know more about Jesus our Savior. Do not let anything or anyone interrupt or take away this time of prayer, fasting and helping others. May this be a special and personal time with Jesus, who accompanies us during Holy Week as we re-live those last moments of the life of Jesus.

A New Opportunity for Prayer

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held on the first Friday of each month in the chapel from 10 am to 7 am. Currently we need people to sign up for one-hour shifts between 10 am and 7 pm. Sign-up sheet is on the bul-letin board at the entry of the church.

Laberinto del Viernes Santo: El Laberinto es un arquetipo, una huella divina, que se encuentra en todas las tradiciones religiosas en diversas

formas alrededor del mundo. El laberinto no es un laberinto comun. No hay trucos y no hay callejones sin salida. Tiene un solo camino tortuoso que viaja al centro. El camino se convierte en un espejo para donde estamos en nuestras vidas. La persona que lo camina usa el mismo camino para regresar y la entrada entonces se convierte en la salida. El camino está a plena vista, lo que permite a una persona estar tranquila y centrarse interna-

mente. Generalmente, hay tres etapas para la caminata: liberar en el camino, recibir en el centro y regresar; es decir, devolviendo al mundo lo que has recibido.

No hay manera correcta o incorrecta de caminar el laberinto.

Good Friday Labyrinth: The Labyrinth is an archetype, a divine imprint, found in all religious tradi-tions in various forms around the world. The labyrinth is not a maze. There are no tricks to it and no dead ends. It has a single circuitous path that travels to the cen-

ter. The path becomes a mirror for where we are in our lives. The person walking it uses the same path to return and the entrance then becomes the exit. The path is in full view, which allows a person to be quiet and focus internally. Generally, there are three stages to the walk: releasing on the way in, receiving in the center and returning; that is, taking back out into the world that which you have received.

There is no right way or wrong way to walk a labyrinth.

To build our Holy Friday Labyrinth we require over five thousand items of canned food, cereal, oil (which looks great in candle light), and even tooth paste. During Lent children and youth are welcome to bring food items up during preparation. Checks made out to St. Peter may be marked “food.” Funds will be used to purchase cans at a reduced rate: Food for thought, Food for the journey, Food for the world.

Hispanic Youth Retreat: “Rise Up with Jesus”

April 28-30 at Aldersgate Retreat Center, Turner OR
